His wages are likely to be £3-4m i reckon? Probably our highest earner. Getting him gone would save us £2m or more. But I think he stays.

Although we did spend £35m that year, so I guess a lot will depend of if we have any intention of strengthening.

I know it makes sense to sell him, but I would be buzzing if he stayed. His playing out from the back works great in the Championship.

Agree. He'll be the best keeper in the league by some margin. Huge confidence boost for the side and he probably pumps up his asking price when the inevitable does happen.

That last bit is the issue with not selling him now, hopefully he has a great season and he gets back to that big fee we know he’ll command but it comes at a cost, that cost is Jakub.

 

Jakub’s played in the premier league and probably fully expected he’d be our #1 after the sale of Mads, so would he be happy to play 2nd fiddle this season or would he want a move?

If he moves we’ll be looking for a #1 & 2 come the end of the season that are as good as either.

 

Jakub could probably be our #1 for many years to come, we know Mads is only with us for 1 maybe 2 more so would it be better to speculate to accumulate now?

I still think West Ham will struggle to justify spending £25 million + for a keeper that was relegated last season at the moment. 
Victor is quoted as going for £7 Million so  maybe it is them playing the game or they think let’s save a bit. 
I think Mads is worth more than £25 mill but I can see the problems in the current PSR world justifying it.

Mads was always one of multiple names linked to West Ham.

 

For the last week they've been talking about Mads, Parma's Suzuki, and as of a few days back now, John Victor.

 

So this isn't a case of them changing their minds or playing games to get Mads.

I just interpreted as him clapping the crowd - he is usually one of the players that takes the lead to do this. Cifuentes came on the pitch and encouraged the team to do it after so Mads did another lap!

Hermansen at £25m is over £20m in profit, we'd need to sell Bilal for £40m to raise the same. My horrible feeling is someone offers us north of £30m for Fatawu or even £15m for Ben Nelson.

I hope that we should be fine from a PSR standpoint this year seeing as we have Vardy (150k p/w), Coady (70 k p/w), Ward (50k p/w), iverson (30 k p/w) and probably Ndidi ( 70k p/w) off the wage bill which will save us almost £20 million a year on wages as well as the £2 million for coady and possible £9 million for Ndidi. As well as I pretty sure I read one of our big loss years drops off the PSR calculations this season. 
 

This still won’t allow us to spend, due to PSR and not having the squad space for new player, but might stop us from having to sell Hermanson or Bilal to comply?

Surely now that amortisation has been limited to 5 years this can't be the case. Chelsea were offering 8 year contracts for this reason.

 

If signing a new contract extended it, they would sign a player on a 5 year contract then keen extending it each year to spread the fee further.
