Re the earners since we last was in the champ.

we have also added the likes Skipp, Ayew, Bilal, Okoli, De Reid, Couibally, Soumare, Kristasen,

Plus Souter, Choudary, Nelson from loans last year.

I think quite a few will have to go, the annual amount for losses is now 13m

and to caveat the worst losses falling out of the 3 year cycle, so did 22m in allowances for that year.

To comply with 83m it needed Barnes pure profit to be sold, and to allow us to bend the rules and still not submit a business plan to sell more pure profit in the shape of KDH at the end of that window.

Although we did spend £35m that year, so I guess a lot will depend of if we have any intention of strengthening.

The wage bill The first time we went down was around 175 million.

This time the wage bill was around 80 million.

Both are before anyone left and relegation deductions, but we have taken over 15 million of the 80 already with people leaving, before any deductions.

Surely now that amortisation has been limited to 5 years this can't be the case. Chelsea were offering 8 year contracts for this reason.

If signing a new contract extended it, they would sign a player on a 5 year contract then keen extending it each year to spread the fee further.

It was stopped in 2023

But JJ, Ndidi, Ricardo etc. signed new contracts before they stopped it

According to Sky Sports News just now, West Ham have gone off the idea of Mads due to our valuation and are now chasing John Victor from Botafogo.

With Kelleher at Brentford, I think it's safe to say that he is unlikely to go to a Premier League club in this window? So might even stay?

Chelsea? Man United? Spurs? alot of teams still need a keeper upgrade

I wouldn't be surprised if Spurs are looking at a new goalie. Hermansen would be an upgrade on all their goalies imo. With Frank there, I would think an easy link could be made, like with Ankergreen/West Ham.

Hermansen was a youth player at Brøndby when Frank was coach there after all.

I can’t imagine him going to Chelsea or Man U, he will need a few seasons at a team like West Ham to do that IMO.

Don't see Chelsea or ManU going for him as their 1st choice – or Hermansen being happy playing second string.

Spurs, granted, with Frank there could be possible. However, Vicario is one of the leaders/captains of that team and is likely to be named club captain now that Son is going. So can't see that either in this window. Frank would be brave to replace him so soon after coming in.

All those that said we should be getting x amount the market isn’t there, no one is clearing willing to pay what we expect. West Ham clearly actually interested all the rest are just rumours.

I’d imagine this now puts more emphasis on the hope Wilf is off and Bilal will go now.

Poor Stol!

I was more than happy to see him go for £20m, as he’s one of the larger PSR profits we can make right now, and I rate Stol.

and then Mads played a beautiful ball through into midfield against Fiorentina and I remembered how much I loved watching him play 2 seasons ago.

I worry about our PSR situation if he stays, but I’d love him to.

Not sure where your getting that from, but capology has it at 59m last time in the champ and currently 52m for the first team playing squad.

Which is still astronomical compared to the rest of the Championship (apart from Southampton)

I can still see Mads ending up at Chelsea, they have moved on both Kepa and Petrovic  plus they will snaffle £28m for KDH which will give them £4m PSR profit, reckon they come in with £25m plus add ons deal. He is the perfect choice for Maresca’s brand of football and is also a far more competent keeper than Sanchez and Jorgensen.

If it makes no difference to psr for us then no brainer to keep because if we get promoted and he has an outstanding season his value increases even more whilst his book value decreases, its probably the sweet spot to sell next season anyway if needed

Sanchez’s performances at the CWC I think have reaffirmed Maresca’s position on him. I think Maresca rates him highly.

A real shame for Stolarczyk if Mads does end up staying

Wouldn’t blame him if he wanted to go, even just on loan

Would be better for his development as well

Didn’t we reject a bid from Norwich for Stol at end of last season?

If Mads stays and we go back up, it’s another Iversen situation isn’t it. Agree he needs to be playing first team football this year, get him out on loan if the alternative is being number 2 here
