But we have money, hopefully to strengthen in other departments that might negate any losses ie it could result in having a stronger strike force
Sankey93 Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 I think we will replace mads! I’d prefer to give Jakob the opportunity but knowing us will go for someone else!
FosseSpark Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 We know that the money needs to go on a striker first. 1

Because that is how he will be asked to play Why don’t we just give Stolarcryk a chance and actually see how he does in the Championship? I thought Iverson was treated poorly by us but it’s hard to deny he was more of an old school keeper. Stolarcryk is clearly a modern keeper who is comfortable with the ball even if not at Hermansen’s level. Maybe he will be in time with games and experience, maybe he won’t be as strong in that area but people suggesting it’s a Ward in 22/23 scenario are off their heads! 6

shen Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 not going to pretend I'm not sad about it. I guess it was necessary and we do have competent backup. 2

That last preseason game makes it worse… almost like the Villarreal one, where we got a glimpse of how good we could be before losing a key part (Herm and Bilal)

Scotch Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 I mean, it's short by at least 5 to 7 million but it is what it is and with the Coady and Ndidi money, we are close to about £30m that we have brought in. Add to that, their wages along side Vardy/Iversen and Wards wages, we are at the very least £40m better off. No idea how close that will get us to being FFP compliant but it's definitely closer than we were. 2

Long Eaton Fox Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 Hermansen playing on Sunday was to show he was injury free?
Tielemans63 Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 I'm gutted. Mads is a difference-maker at this level. He's quite a bit better than Jakub imho. 4

A few more mill would have been nice but we aren't in a good enough financial position to play hard ball.
scinnell Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 A few million short, but unfortunately only West Ham showed any serious interest. I'd rather accept a lower fee and have 20 days left in the market to get a CM, ST, rather than play hardball and lose time and possibly, interest in the player. 3
cropstonfox Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 Going forward, the fad of sweeper keepers Will become secondary.keepers might even be judged on the ability of keeping the ball out of the net.
