100% this.

It's not down to the PL or EFL to decide whether we are guilty and what the punishment is.

What's happened so far:

All that's happened so far is Arbitration Tribunal’s decided the PL has jurisdiction, Leicester City for the alleged breaches of:

- the EFL Championship Profit and Sustainability Rules (P&S Rules) for Season 2023/24

- the club’s obligation to provide its Annual Accounts to the Premier League by 31 December 2024

- the club’s obligation to provide full, complete and prompt assistance to the Premier League in response to the League’s inquiries

What happens next

For PSR/P&S cases, the matter will be handed to an independent Commission to determine whether there is a breach and, if so, what the sanction should be.

All proceedings before an independent Commission are confidential and heard in private. This includes the date and location which can’t be announced in advance

The sanction if any could be:

- There are a range of sanctions available to the independent Commission which include fines, points deductions, and other sporting sanctions

If it had happen the PL would have made the find public via it website.

- Under Premier League Rule W.83.3, at the conclusion of proceedings, an independent Commission’s final decision will be made public via the Premier League’s website.

So at the moment Rob or anyone else is just guessing and filling column inches.

Does Rob ever produce anything other than guess work ?

6 points deduction, isn't insurmountable for automatic promotion. The championship won't be as strong as last year imo, yes some teams have signed good players but we are a 20 goal striker away imo from getting automatic promotion imo.

We may be able to sign someone for £5M

or more on the off chance that he can achieve this

Or we could invest it on a years contract

for a experienced campaigner who would chip

In with 15 plus goals and help the youngsters along.Anyone know an aging centre forward player coach?

4-6 isn't season destroying. Not ideal but still make that up and could get automatics with that. Any more and we're struggling.

How are we under a month away from a new season and still don’t know about a punishment from last 😬

We may not know until November, possibly even not until 2026 depending on any appeal process.

I actually hope that it does drag on, starting the season on minus points is psychologically tough, if we can get a good start and plenty of points on the board then it may soften the blow.

Sheffield United got a point deduction two weeks into the season last season

I think they actually started the season on minus two points - the punishment was decided the previous April, when they were still in the PL. But theirs was a very different case to ours.

Or indeed how PSR is set up to stop us and other similar clubs from winning anything.  Villa struggling this summer I think for example.

Are they struggling as bad as we are, how are we uniquely bad at dealing with it?

Not sure if someone can clear up but is there a possibility of another charge in January when we submit are accounts for last year?

I dont believe so, no.

I think there is, Kieran Maguire certainly thinks so.

Villa sold the womens team to themselves they’re fine, something we should have done

It is possible. The club didn't seem in any hurry to sell players before 30 June, which you might assume would mean they were confident about not breaching for 24/25. However, experience suggests that in the case of our club that might be a dangerous assumption.

Because if they had sorted it already, it would allow us to crack on with summer plans. It suits the EFL/PL them to leave it as it stuffs us up with the uncertainty around us. Look at last summer!

Just realised we almost spent as much last summer as we raised in sales following the first relegation lol

So Maddison, Barnes, Castagne fetched a tad more than we spent Skipp, BEK, Fatawu, Ayew, Okoli, Golding, Coulibaly.

The cost of the purchase is amortised over the length of the contract.

I think it’s more to do with it’s not a clear case. It’s probably to do with the EPL and EFL trying to shoehorn offences to fit.

It wasn’t a comment on cash flow, accounting or regs - more that we sold some very talented players for almost the same we spent on shit

Exactly, if people think this current board will somehow ever make the right decisions to get us back competing those people need their heads checking.

If it wasn’t for our current crop of young players (no guarantee they sign pro contracts!) we would be very thin on the ground for assets to sell next season. The club won’t get away with this forever while we slowly decline into mediocrity.

Probably waiting to see how good we are before they work out how many points they need to clobber us with in order to keep us down. Vindictive barstools.

Good job it isn’t down to them isn’t it. An Independent panel make the decision….. the same ones that agreed we couldn’t be punished last time? So, you could suggest the EPL are on the back foot……….

Psr has ruined football because people look at a transfer in psr terms rather than what you’re actually paying.  “Skipps only 5m per season”  and “if we sell Nelson we get 10m pure profit for psr”  it warps the fact that 10m for a youth prospect is below their value  and that 25 or whatever it was for skipp is also horrific business.   When we have a business who thinks bank loans for cash are smart…. This type of stuff is terrible because they only focus on today and aren’t thinking about the ramifications over 5 years
