It's impossible to know if all of the big media companies are just bandwagoning on the Football Insider article or if there is multiple sources all saying the same thing. Football Insider have said "sources", the Mail have not said who their source is at all (but the post came after Football Insider), Talksport "understands" based on what? The BBC so far have been the only source with any sort of backbone to actually point out that Football Insider is the source they are basing their article on. It just feels like one blog site posts something, then a couple of media companies jump on the bandwagon to farm clicks, before you know it it's nailed on because all of the "most reputable" media companies are giving it credibility by writing about it despite not knowing if it's actually true or some story that came from Jay Cartwrights contacts at the FA. I understand that media organisations sometimes need to hide sources, but it takes the piss when they constantly spread information based on rumours they haven't verified. Sorry, the thought of these organisations giving this story credibility is scaring me, Rant over I think you're clutching at straws. A national newspaper like the Mail (as much as I despise them) wouldn't run a story as an exclusive unless they had two separate sources corroborating the story. Only possibility if it doesn't happen is that LCFC themselves have leaked this as a smokescreen for something else. We've done it before. 1
Jacob7839 Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Just me or does anyone seriously worry that we end up like reading and all of them??
Sankey93 Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 A lot of the saints fans still really like him from what I’ve seen in X, think this bad news that he could be coming to us. He’s exactly what they need. A manager who galvanises a dressing room and protects players - exactly what they need when the rest of the club is in chaos. Sad thing is, even with all these issues, I still reckon he takes over and absolutely walks the league. Let’s just hope we can keep pace with them. Just a few tweets from there fans. 2
trooky Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Our long term aim is stability in the Premier league, this guy has already proved he can't manage in the PL so what the **** is the point of his appointment.... More wasted money when we sack him after 12 games back in the PL. Top and Rudkin must really like groundhog day
Iwebema Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 (edited) I'm still not sure on the source if this is true or not....but ive felt for a while we were destined to be together. The only real positive I have is I think he will spend more time playing our academy players. But like everyone else, his brand of football cant be successful against our longer term ambitions. It would be another appointment that fits the bill of this board though, goes against the fans so he's already starting up hill, desperate to play a brand of football that only works if you are one of the best teams in the league. He would get my support like any manager but this has Cooper vibes of going south quickly because like Cooper we can already predict what's going to happen. Edited 21 May 2025 by Iwebema

Football fans generally have a habit of seeing the worst case though don’t they. For us, league 1, for them we get 120 points. In our state, we are probably more realistic.

I think literally any pro manager in the game and a good portion of our fanbase could have us top 6 next season. Edited 21 May 2025 by filbertway

Parker and Gerrard were heavily backed to get the job when Enzo got it.
brookfox Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 While we’re on a roll of signing incompetent people from Southampton, Rishi Sunak as DoF anyone?! 1
LVFox Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 If true, it's the most basic, short term decision we could have made. Top/Rudkin have literally looked for possession based coach who can get us promoted. But what about after that? Where's the long term strategy? Where's the football brain looking at how we absolutely dismantled his side last season, looking at how he was far too wedded to his core principles to get any level of competency from his side this season. I'm sure we will play some lovely stuff under him, but we will have a soft underbelly and only put ourselves further back in the long term. 2
filbertway Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Can we get Les Reed and Clive Woodward in as well please?

Popular Post jv1 Posted 21 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 21 May 2025 I literally must be one of the only ones that doesn’t hate this - we have the players already to play his formation and have no money to massively change our squad - better than trying to put round pegs in square holes like this year - his teams try and play football and are pretty attacking - yes it’s a bit like Enzo but that was hardly a disaster- I see there is a major dislike for him on here - I’ll give him a chance 5

STUHILL Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 anyone know much about his backroom staff? Guessing they are available too and ready to come in with him. I think RVN biggest downfall was not having his own backroom team with him from day 1. 1
Outfox the Fox Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Obviously, 'Football Insider' isn't a dodgy source, at all!
