No thanks.

How can we communicate this to the club?

They wont listen even if you held them down and shouted at them via a megaphone.

If they do appoint him then I'm at the point where it's clear they are trolling us.

Utterly ****ing abysmal on every level.

been falling out of love with professional football for a while now, could barely be bothered with Sunday despite it being Vardys last game, this would be the final straw.

These were my exact thoughts.

Honestly the one choice I'd rather keep RVN over. Turned a few heads on the train when I opened the article and loudly told my phone to FOAD.

I have been struggling to stay enthusiastic about my support of this club after 62 years of following this club

Russell Martin as manager would be the nail in the coffin

No wonder Vardy wants to go. Wouldn't surprise me if he had knowledge of this impending appointment.

I'd imagine we couldn't pay his 140k a week salary moreover

Im on the shelf with Martin if im honest ! His style of play is same as enzos , boring at times, possession based , lay the trap then go for it,   but did the job and got us up ...I think hed take as up at first attempt , Dyche would as well ( first choice ) .But its if we did go back up hed seriously have to change how we played but he seems a bit of a stubborn bloke who will stick to his way of how football should be played

It’s like the RVN appointment all over again. Hired because he did well against.

Now hiring Martin because he got them promoted from the championship.

Clueless.

This will end like Sousa & Cooper appointments, being so wedded to 1 system unless your Pep or Klopp and have the elite of the elite only ends one way.

Take whatever points deduction is chucked at us as this moron isn't the man to take us where we need to be in the long term.

Rather get rid of about 4 other players to recoup approx £140k/w.

Soumare at 80k is worth binning off.

I imagine Faes is on about 50k?

Daka similar. There we go - 180k/w off the books.

I’m sure it’s been mentioned already but I’m almost certain Vardy would’ve stayed but the club weren’t in a position to offer him a contract and they’ve made some sort of deal to make out that it’s Vardy’s choice.

While I agree with your sentiment I would imagine it's going to be be both Vardy's £140k off the books and as many of the Soumare, Faes, Daka, Vestegaards (etc) as we can shift, too. Not either/or.

I’d guess it’s probably a bit of both.

Club were likely aware of the PSR breach and knew the EFL would insist on cutting costs and Vardy wouldn’t likely accept the level of wage we would have had to offer.

I did allude to something similar, in that interview with Tyler when he asks him it kinda catches him on the hop.

Keeps the Vardy brand going and makes him a more popular option rather than he was discarded after 13 seasons even though the club are heading into the champ
