Genuinely quite gutting to see so many accepting this.

We’ve been fed shit by this club for so long a slightly different flavour of feces seems appealing.

Can guarantee those chanting anti-Martin today are the same people that say "give it Kingy" when Ruud started to struggle, and when pushed on who they want they immediately say "Sean Dyche".

The amount of hate on here for Martin is beyond belief - this forum has got to new levels of toxicity this year - maybe slightly understandable that everyone is beyond cheesed off after the garbage we have been served up every week but the negativity isn’t healthy - especially for a bloke that hasn’t even managed a minute for us - he is getting the hate of top , rudkin , cooper and ruud combined and he hasn’t even been appointed yet - bonkers

To be honest I just want a manager who takes us down the route of developing young players and bringing them into the first team.

Nobody reliable has reported it yet. Rob Dorsett - who is better informed than most about us - said last week that Russell was under consideration along with Rohl but a decision hadn’t been made. I’m clinging onto the hope that the club is still deciding and may yet sidestep this terrible appointment…

He's in the same mould as the last 2. A proven mediocre coach/ manager. The fact he was sacked by Southampton speaks volumes.

Because the answer to the problem plainly isn’t Russell Martin, anyone with half an ounce of footballing knowledge can see that.

 

The guy’s Premier League performance is worse than Rudds and his Championship experience ain’t exactly ground breaking. I think until the board communicates with the fans continuing to take the same wrong path is going to further increase the toxicity.

Absolutley not. Danny Rohl would be my choice. No one wants another Southampton reject

Same thing - just pure negativity- Martin has done way more than plenty being touted - I’d say he is a relatively safe pair of hands who will have something to prove after failing in the premier league- he isn’t the first and won’t be the last that didn’t quite get it right at that level - if anything I think he comes across pretty well in some of the bigger interviews iv seen and maybe he is a b tech enzo but his record in the champ is decent - we could do a lot worse - only my opinion against all the negativity but I refuse to slate or chant against a guy that isn’t even in the door yet

I’m with you. I’m not jumping with joy he’s our manager he will have to prove himself again to me but I’m not going to hate on him for getting it wrong in prem which we ain’t even in any more

I'd give him a chance just like anyone else, but if he signs a single player over 25 and comes out with 'there's some great experience here like Jordan and Patson is great at running in behind' then it'll just be same shit different ****, he's basically got zero margin for error with me in those first few weeks and into pre season....

The one thing I take with Martin is that like Enzo he seems to be an actual manager, at least has an identity unlike the football with Cooper and RVN

This is quite clearly happening. There are leaks in Sheffield to their local paper regarding coaching staff. Those discussions don't take place without an agreement with the manager. 

 

It's pretty uninspiring, but not sure it's anywhere near as bad as people are making out. 

 

One thing Martin is pretty hot on, is bringing through young talent. He's had to do it at pretty much each club he's been at.

Looks like you’ll be getting your wish then. A competent club doesnt usually look at a bloke who was on course to break the lowest Premier league points total and think hes the long term solution to getting this club back on a steady footing. They dont usually beat a team 9-0 and think they should sign half their defence either
