Date of sacking: after the last game in May, whatever date that is.

Position: 19th.

Points:  less than Southampton.

Last game in charge: final game of the season by which time we still won't be shouting for the board to resign and Rudkin/Whelan will still be present as directors. Top will be on the pitch smiling and waving, joshing with JR  not JV.

9th August after being booed off following a 5-0 defeat of Birmingham City, Daka scoring a hat trick, Ayew bagging a brace, all assisted by BDR. Stolarczyk is erroneously sent off in the 5th minute (VAR would've saved him) and Wout Faes produces a string of fine saves.

Although down to ten men for the vast majority of the match, the tactical nous of our new manager shines through, with every player given it their all, clearly as a result of the new fitness regime that has been brought in.

Still, fans are not happy and despite a dominant performance against a widely tipped team, Top finally bows to public pressure. Martin is gone.

To be honest if he does get the job and fans act like this from the start what chance does he have? Points deductions maybe transfer embargo, probably a fire sale of all our best players and coupled with all that fans hating on him before he's even been appointed. He has to be given a chance. I'm sure I read an interview with him more or less admitting he got it wrong at saints trying to play that brand of football and was too stubborn and he'd learn from it.

This appointment does have a doomed feel about it already. It's probably the lowest mood at the club since the Stoke relegation day.

Wrexham (A) 5-1 defeat on TV.

Get someone in who has no transfer window and say you want the title or bust.

Vardy hat trick?

The most telling interview was on MOTD2 a couple of weeks back where he said "maybe a club that's used to success and used to playing that style of football even though they may not be at the moment"

I wish him the best but fear the worst.

No he doesn’t. That’s the point. We’ve tried giving people a chance. This time I want to see just one competent decision before I give someone the benefit of the doubt.

After the last 4 managers I’m no longer giving an inch. If they’re not interested in entertaining people in the slightest, I’m opposing them from minute one. Martin is in that category.

I think you're being a little unrealistic with the club.

We haven't done this at all since we lost Vichai.

Right now I think I'd just settle for an accidental decision that is good enough, so it doesn't feel like we're making the worst possible decision all the time.
