They're in a financial mess and have sold key players, so that would suggest they're not quite the paragon of competence people think. Every small to medium sized Premier League club that punches above its weight looks as though it's run by geniuses until it goes tits up.

Back in the day it was Leeds, then Wigan, then Pompey, then Stoke, then us and the next few will probably be Brentford, Brighton and Forest. It'll all end in tears eventually because it's a completely closed shop for anyone who isn't backed by petrostates and multi-billionaires with a world famous name.

Eventually, the bargain buys dry up and you have to try and compete on the same footing as these clubs to not only add to your squad but also to keep who you've got, or face losing them and being unable to replace them.

Not sure how much of a financial mess they are - was merely pointing out that they tend to buy well

Ugliest of wins at a ground we traditionally lose at, so happy with the result. I am not sure if the team were given Mogadon by mistake before the game, but they certainly played like it.  Cunha was the best player on that pitch.

Odegaard was good to watch though. I thought he was played well.

Is this the season Manure get relegated?

Probably last season was closest chance we would have seen Man United relegated likewise Tottenham, sadly all of the promoted three were terrible.

Parker looks set for his fourth relegation in four premier league campaigns he's managed in. Seems to be similar to Warnock, brilliant in the championship but terrible in the premier league.

be clear, forest are spending like near £300mil come the end of this window,

they will be making a few sales next summer thats for sure as frankly they wont be able to continue to spend like that with PSR, the increased wage bill too,

of course we know whats going to happen tho, bang average forest player is going to be brought for £40mil by botafogo or Jabba's greek team

Also, Keith Andrews is defo getting sacked this season,

wonder if brentford will go in for McKenna

They have spent £141m and recouped £118m. So just over £20m spent.

I know they like to get players in but I’m not convinced they are spending £280m in the next week.

We are one game in tbh so not sure he "looks set" on relegation.

Away to Spurs too .

They play Sunderland at the weekend so obviously one both teams will want to win .

Well everyone at all clubs are very reactive on managers and players now .

Even the BBC has articles based on what they saw after one game .

No one thinks let’s give it a bit of time now .

Tasty game next

Palace v Florist @ the palace

That ones one to watch, I was impressed with palace they will give Florist a run for their money, just hope it dont get nasty

oh and come on the toffees get the white dogsh!t back into championship where they belong

if only florist, leeds and man city could go down that would be the perfect 3 for me (but i know man city or prbably even florist wont be going down)

Don't think you can lump Brighton in with teams like Leeds and Portsmouth, it's doing the whole moneyball thing a huge disservice.

Do you reckon United do a bit of transfer business every year and the season kicks off and they think "shit.... forgot about the midfield again didn't we!"

It's baffling... Casemiro and Mount starting yesterday lol

Essentially if Bruno has an off game (he was shocking yesterday) then Man United don't get points.

They've signed another 3 attacking players for close to £200m this summer but forgot completely to sign anyone to create anything for them lol.

Meanwhile Liverpool and Man City have two sets of world class midfield three's they can put out.

If they've got that much money to splash on 3 forwards surely one chunk of £70-80m goes on a world class or even up and coming CM?!?

Looking forward to this. First match of the premier league season I’ll have seen. Should be a decent atmosphere and will be nice to see KDH play.

Can see it being a long season for Leeds though, that line up screams relegation for me.
