The Palace one is incredibly clear cut and has been a rule for 4/5 years now. There's no excuse to get caught out by it

Sadly not applied consistently though.

Several images of free kick goals surfaced as soon as the Palace goal was ruled out showing the exact same thing going unpunished.

Isak can **** himself to be honest.

Collymore just wrote a tweet that was so long, I won’t embed it - but he nailed it.

Isak should hand in a transfer request but he won’t, because he would forego his “loyalty” (lol) bonus.

I’m sick of footballers pulling rank over their own clubs. Wissa doing it to Brentford now too. They’re happy to sign these contracts and run them down if they play like shit (LCFC). Or they can cry off when it doesn’t suit them.

The elephant in the room with PSR, is that footballers’ already obscene wages have spiralled even further out of control.

May be an image of 1 person, playing American football, playing football and text that says "Colin ColinMillar Millar @Milia Colin χ Crystal Palace's ast 10 games have included Arsenal away, Liverpool away, Chelsea away, Spurs away, FA Cup semi- final vs Villa, FA Cup final Vs Man City, Community Shield VS Liverpool. They are unbeaten in all those 10 games and won 2 trophies. Oliver Glasner CliveMason/GettyImages Mason/ Getty /Images Clive"

I said it months ago but surprised his name hasn't been linked with bigger jobs. Done incredible at Palace. Seems like a sound guy too.

Just been listening to Alan Shearer's thoughts on PSR and very much true what he is says. Clubs like Newcastle United and Aston Villa can get into a position when they are close to get into that next level of becoming more of threat to the usual top four guard but are prevented due to PSR. Even though both clubs have the money as do money other clubs in the league, you are not allowed to spent, whilst the usual six seem to spend and spend with no issues.

It would be interesting to know how the premier league would look without PSR, maybe certain clubs could have avoided relegation. Just imagine last season we could have gone out spent some money and brought some much needed quality that could have kept us in the league... whilst one of those top six powerhouses they love would have gone down.

I get the part about wanting to protect clubs from overspending and going into the red, like we seen with clubs like Portsmouth in the past. But the role needs to change if you got prove that your owners have got the cash to finance a deal, then they should be allowed to spend.

Before PSR how many times did a top 6 club go down?

Sunderland, a promoted team, have spent over £100m this summer.

From last season obviously

PFA Player of the year - Mo Salah

PFA Young player - Morgan Rogers

Team:

Sels; Saliba, Van Dijk, Gabriel, Kerkez, Rice, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Salah, Isak, Wood

Summed up Man City’s season, not one player in there.  An aberration and not one they are likely to repeat this season.

They need to redesign the Young Player award.

Morgan Rogers is 23 with nearly 200 senior appearances in professional football.

I complain about Americanisation, in life as well as sport, more than most people but a "Rookie" award or graduate award would be better. Especially if it has to be a player developed by that club.

Fofana throwing his toys out, becoming the latest footballler to join the weird delete-everything-club-related-on-Instagram trend. Unsurprising given his antics when moving here and since to Chelsea.

From a footballing perspective, it's sad to see how injuries (and perhaps a dodgy attitude) have held him back. He was genuinely outstanding for us, and I remember people saying Arsenal had signed the wrong St. Etienne CB when they picked up Saliba.

100%

IMO that sort of award is perfect for Myles Lewis-Skelly.

And second place was probably a player as  older in Gravenberch .

Sounds like Enzo has told him that he's not in his plans and to go and get a loan somewhere. Not sure that any club will want to sign him other than for lose change given his medical record.

You'd have to be desperate to sign him given his injury history.

Agreed.  Businesses, particularly large ones, run at a loss frequently when growing.  Speculate to accumulate.  Whether we like it or not football has become first and foremost a business operation.

If Newcastle's owners want to pump in shed loads of cash in the hope success, Champions League qualification and trophies etc lead to increased commerical revenue and business value later why should they be prevented from doing so?  It is anti-competitive.

I truly believe PSR is first and foremost about protecting vested interests. People often say to prevent another Leicester.  That's b9llocks, it's to prevent another Man City.

For the premier league, the model was perfect when it was the same top 4 of Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. Them four clubs were the most wealthy and constantly secured the top 4 without fear. As you say the arrival of oil rich Man City ruined there perfect premier league model, soon as Villa and Newcastle got bought out they acted quickly with PSR.

I don’t think it’s a pen, the shot was hit with power and took a deflection on route. At normal speed the defenders action is a normal one. His arm is by his side so therefore in a natural position.

My issue with VAR is that whatever decision was made it’s not a clear and obvious error. What should have happened there is the ref gives a corner and the VAR tells him if he needs to review it so he can make his own mind up. I’ve always said the replays should be normal speed, slow motion always makes everything look worse.

Whatever happened, it’s no surprise to see an American owned club given a decision like this - especially on opening weekend. Football as we know it in this country is ruined and it will be an American franchise model in our lifetimes.

For anyone who thinks I’m talking nonsense about my American ownership point, 14 current PL clubs have either American owners or investors. Out of the 6 that don’t we have;

Man City - due to get hammered for their 115 charges

Newcastle - PSR issues despite being richest club in the world

Wolves - ongoing PSR issues

Brighton - feeder club for top clubs

Sunderland - bound to feel the wrath at some point

Spurs - meh

no coincidence if you ask me that the heavier the US influence the more our game is getting ruined

We have zero PSR issues right now.
