I’ve just been going through all the on-line comments regarding Stuart (Tw)Attwell following Fridays game. The thing I keep seeing from fans  is “ He should never be allowed to referee a Utd game again”. They can point to a specific chain of incidents which have lead to this over multiple games and seasons so I get it.
However I wish they’d go further, remove their own club bias and say for the sake of football he should not referee ANY matches.

The arrogance to suggest your club can pick and choose the officials and the arrogance to say it’s OK for everyone else to suffer him?

They feel there is a unique bias and evidence of a pattern so in that context refereeing non Utd games competently and safely may be within his capability.
But this is not the case, (not) forgetting the one off incident where he awarded  a goal for a shot that had gone in through the side netting (something that has only ever previously occurred when a History teacher covered for a P.E. Teacher on a school playing field), the comments from multiple managers that games refereed by him are unsafe for the players and the fact his bewildering decision making once triggered a fluctuating heart rhythm in me that lead to me having to sit in the concourse for 20 minutes while it settled down, his performances time and time again have been shocking. Is there really a system of ongoing assessment?

But because Utd are affected the media are now interested. Let him referee other games? When people are paying £40-£70 a ticket and instead of a football match they get a farce? That’s OK is it Utd fans? Where players safety is risked, not to mention mine? Just stop letting him affect the outcomes of football matches and get rid once and for all. He’s no longer in his fast tracked development phase, he’s not going to change, it’s 2026 and he’s still incompetent.

And don’t get me started on Bobby “referees badly” Madley! :frusty:

Atwell was absolute shite in our game last week too. Zero consistency and let's players get in his ear about decisions constantly.

Can West Ham please make sure one of Forest or Spurs go down ffs

West Ham are not going down. It's either Spurs, Forest or Leeds. Going just by form, quality etc Spurs are the worse of all. They're done. I even said early December here that Spurs are going down.

Expecting an emergency meeting of the PL authorities tonight frantically rewriting the rules to ensure that one of the priviledged few can't be relegated. Surely must be some way of docking WHU some points :dunno:

To be fair, if it meant Spurs getting relegated, I can tolerate Forest being in the prem. it would be ****ing biblical to see spurs in the Championship…. The EPL’s darlings….

That's the thing as well, Spurs surely have to get their shit together at some point, this is the best chance of them dropping

Final away game for Tottenham is at Chelsea! imagine that could be where they get relegated.

Fixtures to come:

Sunderland away

Brighton home

Wolves away

Villa away

Leeds home

Chelsea away

Everton home

The way tomorrow look in that run in, they could even lose to Wolves.
