Teams interviews are great when it's an initial conversation or interview, saves candidates potentially travelling at big expense for a preliminary chat. 

 

I agree for final interviews they should be in person.

Agreed! In fact, that job Mr Burnham just came into seems to be the worst for it, seems to keep going to a bunch of people who all went on exactly the same course at the same uni.

Because it seems we've been having a little difficulty with some of their alumni for the last 30 years or so. Liz Truss graduating is worthy of an investigation on it's own

A US Senate committee chairman has warned ex-White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci could be held in contempt of Congress after he refused to answer questions at a combative hearing into his handling of the Covid pandemic.

The former top infectious disease expert invoked his constitutional right against self-incrimination during testimony more than 100 times.

Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky said afterwards: "I think there is a very real chance that he could be prosecuted for that."

Paul has long accused Fauci of trying to cover up the origin of the coronavirus, and of funding research at a lab in Wuhan in China, where some theories say the pandemic began. Fauci has denied wrongdoing.

 

This goes much further than just this hearing and the people attending it. 

 

This is a blatant attempt to memory-hole the very idea of the truth behind a pandemic and the deaths of a great many people, all because the tinfoil-hat wearing nutjobs in charge at the time don't want to take the fall for placing superstition and nationalism (and personal gain) over science and need a scapegoat, even though he's been pardoned.

To be fair,  considering he was a Cambridge graduate, he perhaps wanted an alternative view. Of course, Cambridge have their own success stories including the delightful Nick  Griffin (ex BNP), Matt Hancock, a health secretary perhaps better known for a kiss awarding of PPE contracts to his associates than his lack of achievement in post and Diane Abbott, who has was so much in charge of her brief she said that 10,000 extra police officers would cost £300,000! No doubt one of the best interviews ever:

About 49,000 migrants have crossed into Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta from Morocco in the last 24 hours, officials estimate.

So perhaps instead of being simply reactive, could the UK and other players instead be a little proactive and look more at the causes of these migrations in the first place? Because otherwise, the only options are the status quo or abandoning a great many innocent human beings to their (rather horrible) fate in pure social Darwinist style.

Spanish supreme court ruled earlier this month that anyone arriving on Spanish land via sea could not be returned to where they had come from. 
this is a big incentive 

 

But Morocco have clearly enabled tens of thousands to reach the border area and make a shortish journey as opposed to what was the norm where you would have to swim for many many hours and basically flip a coin on your life to reach the enclave.
