Fans were invited to a meet and greet with Miquel and players only two weeks ago. Billiard, the new DoF, is big mates with Beard, a man of such integrity he's prepared to dump his brand new club first chance something better comes along. Leicester Women's football is now going to be run by two blokes who are old mates. Nepotism is alive and well.

I feel tremendously sorry for Miquel, who had us playing much better by the end of her first season, especially since most of it was stricken by injuries to all the forwards. She, the players and the fans deserve better than this shabby treatment.

I remember Beard losing it completely when we beat his Liverpool team at King Power; after spending the first 60 minutes screaming at his players, he retired to the bench in a huff and showed no further interest in his team. Burnley have got away with one there.

It seems like even the women's team is about to go through a similar process of utter managerial incompetence to the men's team. This club is becoming a complete joke. It's a pity I have already renewed my season ticket again.

The club is already a complete joke. Regardless of my own opinion on Miquel, the DoF they had in place (her name escapes me) was described to me as ‘knowing nothing about Football’ and left the club in December 2024. I can’t reveal the source but she kicks a ball for us. The club waited until the Billiard appointment which meant they missed out on the best free transfers and also half arsed contract negotiations with Momiki, Howard etc.

The medical team (now largely replaced) and the rehab for Petermann, Rantala etc was another reason these players wanted away, they were unhappy with it.

I won’t repeat what I heard about Miquel, however if the intention was to fire her, then it should have been done in May.

The club is a shambles from top to bottom, including the men’s team with Rudkin and Co.

I have no inside information and can only judge Miquel on the performances and direction of the team, neither of which would seem to justify sacking her, especially not immediately after inviting fans on a PR exercise to meet her just before the new season begins...

The owners seem immune to fans' views about Rudkin and Co. Their recent announcements that they're listening, etc., strike me as mere box-ticking exercises. What, exactly, does Rudkin have over the owners that they persist with him?

It's so sad what is happening with the women's team. I really believe women's football needs to develop women managers and support staff. Surely there are plenty of options out there rather than employing two blokes who appear to have little sense of loyalty except to themselves...?

I just got this response from the LCFC Supporters Services:

Hi Alan,

Thank you for your email. We are not aware of this, as far as we can see it is paper talk.

Any information on this if true will be released by the club.

Kind Regards

Supporter Services

So why are the club not making a public statement to that effect? This isn't some fanzine transfer rumour we're all savvy enough to take with a pinch of salt; these are stories in national newspapers and online news sites. Again, what other business would treat its customers with this level of disdainful disrespect?

There can't be any smoke without fire, id imagine that they are just waiting for there to be a formal agreement in place with Beard and announce it all at once.

I'd be extremely surprised if it doesn't happen now.

The silence reveals more than them coming out with a statement at this point, they can't come out and deny it, then a day later reveal him as the new manager.

If it was complete rubbish, I would expect a statement before the end of the day backing her.

You think LCFC Supporters Services would know more than us lol

When you have a club that conducts its own internal review, in effect, marking its own homework and never admits to failings, you have major problems from the top down.

Unfortunately the owner doesn’t share the same interest or passion to that of his father. I’m not sure Rudkin has anything on the owner, it’s just that the owner doesn’t really care.

We can confirm that LCFC Women have decided to part company with Manager Amandine Miquel and Assistant Manager Amaury Messuwe, who leave their roles with immediate effect.
Amandine Miquel to leave role as LCFC Women manager
She was appointed to the position in the summer of 2024
Assistant Amaury Messuwe also departs the Club
Amandine was appointed in the summer of 2024, along with Amaury, and they helped guide the team to a 10th placed finish in the Barclays Women’s Super League last season.
We would like to thank Amandine and Amaury for their hard work and professionalism during their time with the Club, and we wish them both the very best in their future endeavours.
The squad continues its preparations under the wider coaching team ahead of the new WSL campaign, while we will provide a further update once the process of appointing a new LCFC Women Manager has been concluded.

a new DOF was always likely to lead to a change in manager, if King Power sold today and the new owners brought in a DOF to replace Rudkin Marti would probably be concerned for his future

If Beard is a better manager than Miquel then fine. But allowing Miquel's sacking to be leaked to the press before an official announcement is made shows once again just what a shoddy, rotten, poorly run rabble KPFC has become. That's not how you treat people.

pretty much every sacking in football gets leaked, agents talk...

Don't know what the club were expecting 10th place seems quite good what with the resourses we have compared to other clubs.

Highest ever league finish too.

Finding it odd that Beard hasn't been announced yet, id have thought that it was likely that an agreement was reached prior to letting Miquel go.

(Enter rant about how shambolic the club is run)

Which for what its worth, I dont wholly agree with. And I think unless you work for the club at a decent level in the hierarchy, you will not know for certain.

If i were you, id actually write back to the LCFC supporters services now and offer your services to them for supply of future information on the club as its quite clear from their response that you obviously know a lot more about what's going on inside the club than they do...! :D

Hiring Coach Beard would actually make total sense, the whole premise of Ted Lasso was that she was trying to destroy the club through intentional incompetence.

Good point, didn’t consider that!

In other news, according to Google, they are currently playing London City Lionesses in a friendly. Nowhere to watch it, ect... so I guess just have to keep an eye out for the score.
