For someone who's usually quite negative - I think we'll still be one of the best teams in the division regardless of transfer activity.

Academy - this is what its all about.

I would take just missing out of the playoffs if it meant we were preparing the next generation properly. Next year could be a development year that gets everyone ready to nail the championship the year after and then the academy graduates are in a better more prepared spot for a PL the season afterwards.

So much hype around these academy players. Who we talking about? Aside from Ben Nelson who has had good reports from his loan moves.

I do think a fair few overestimate Vestergaard's "dominance" at this level.. He was booked 13/14 times the last time we were in the division in a role that was borderline tailor-made for him..

Now he'll be another year older, another year slower, in a role that might not be completely aligned to his strengths.. Not letting him walk last summer was absolute madness..

Definitely are, people are confusing being able to put your foot on the ball under no pressure and playing a pass with being a good defender.

He looked average at best in defending and we lost 11 matches.

I agree this is a squad which on paper won the league and should be too good. But there was some awful frailties shown from February through to mid-April against quite poor sides. We got 10 from a possible 30. This co-incided largely with Ricardo getting injured - was that a system thing or rather our midfield /right back was shit without him?

Similarly to the last time we were here, if we can start well and build momentum, we'll have more than enough about us to beat most sides in the division. The question would be what we're up against end of the season; do we imagine Saints / Ipswich / Sheff U hitting 90-100 points, and if so can we better that? Even our painfully exposed weaknesses from the season just gone won't seem half as bad against the Prestons, Oxfords etc of this league.

I’m confident for next season even if we lose our two biggest assetsMads and Bilal.

There’s genuine talent coming through: Alves, Nelson, Monga, Evans. Defensively we were out of our depth in the Prem, but Faes and Vestergaard looked completely fine in the Championship  it was easy for them (still hope they both leave tho). Out wide we’ve got Mavididi, Fatawu, McAteer all proven threats at this level. If Ricardo and Winks stay, that’s two ball players who will dictate the play. We’re still crying out for a proper striker, but even without one, this is a squad that should be top 4 minimum. Not Premier  League quality but definitely one of the strongest in the Championship. The club’s not being run properly for years but if we get lucky and bring in the right manager who can restore that feel-good factor like Maresca did early on we’ll be right in the mix.

We need to stay down and rebuild. The last promotion killed us financially as we lost out on the parachute payment and we cannot afford that again. Next season needs to be stabilization comfortable mid table. Bring back entertaining football and focus on homegrown players. Move out more of the waste of space high earners. Maybe a promotion in year three.

I’m fairly confident the faithful will do their best to hamper our chances by booing constantly from the moment we concede a goal to Sheffield Wednesday to the final whistle of the season. No team stands a chance if our support continues to be as toxic as it has been.

The arrival of around 3000 new season ticket holders should hopefully help in this regard, especially if some of the more toxic element haven't renewed.

This is often forgotten - we've been crap since February 2024. The last third of the Championship season we were bang average for even that level, and we've kept that up.

We on paper should be good but there's no guarantees at all. It's not as good a squad as we went down with last time either.

There is a gulf between the premier league and the Championship.  Even with a points deduction we will still finish in the top 6.  I am that confident I have put money on it already.

Same teams that were promoted will fail again next season (psr has seen to it).  It will continue in such vein until psr is radically changed or got rid of.

Neither were Leeds last season squad or team and they romped it.

Leeds were very good last season - they could've beaten 106 if not for Meslier.

No not at all. I fear something similar to Luton but happy to be proven wrong

Lost faith in hierarchy

Little evident team spirit

Too many players who don't want to be there or put up the fight

No proven striker

Fans not invested

Points deduction imminent

This can all be turned around but the right choice has to be made(refer to 1st point)

Off the pitch we're an utter shambles, far more than the average KPFCer will admit but its hard to judge anything on the pitch til we see squad changes and obviously a new manager. If we sell 4 or 5 the squad that was untouchable for most of 23/24 we won't be as untouchable as people think. I'm dreading the season but I was before Maresca came in too.

With Vardy gone it now feels like a fresh start. Let the rebuild begin and I'm confident that we have some really good prospects who are about to launch us on an upward trajectory. I'm feeling far more excited about next season than last.

When I saw players names for pre season today I thought, here we go.

I don't feel optimistic. I just wish it was all sorted out one way or another. It's like waiting to see a dentist. There was a massive gap between the playoff teams and the top two so we could do well. Doesn't really matter as promotion was a miserable reward for the previous season. Felt like a financial windfall for the owners but a punishment for the fans.

I'm looking forward to the new season. Hopefully we can get rid of all the high earning journeymen who are only at the club for what they can get out of it, who never put a hard shift in and are not much bothered whether we win or lose. I want to see them shifted out and replaced by those who show pride in the badge and who do care what happens on the pitch, bringing some pride and passion back to the team and the club. Start paying wages which we can afford.

I also hope we lose the glory-hunting element in our support who flocked to the club in our Premier winning year. Up to then it was the loyal, faithful supporters who had seen the club through all the good times and the bad times but suddenly found themselves pushed out once the glory boys smelled the first hint that LCFC were doing something special. Suddenly our stadium was not big enough. Having followed the club for years suddenly many supporters were edged out by those who had no interest in the club when we were crap.

And I am hoping there is a re-shuffle at the top end of the club by getting rid of those who got us into this mess. So many mistakes have been made which have cost us dearly - poor decisions in the transfer market, unrealistic wages and incentives, poor recruitment, lazy attitudes on and off the pitch, lack of commitment, too many unfit players, misuse of Seagrave which gives the impression more of a holiday camp than a serious training facility, slow development of academy players to the first team etc.etc.

Get this right and it could be a very exciting season.

I fear the worst, but hope for the best.

Its vital we employ a real manager.

Then the 3 small issues need fixing.

1. we can`t defend.

2. We have no midfield, seriously rolling the ball backwards is not midfield.

3. we have no attack, Daka, you cannot be serious.

Fix those minor issues and who knows.

Two years ago the club did very well in the summer, getting in a new management team and securing 3 major signings early on. Hopefully they can do something similar now (after this delay!).

However if the team for the first game includes Daka and others who are not popular with the fans and/or are not good enough, then the fans´ enthusiasm might disappear very quickly.
