To Röhl With It Or Not?

Southampton went with the fresh up-and-coming approach with Will Still, it’s only right to follow suit by appointing someone with potential like Rohl. 
 

From a style of play perspective, you won’t find many better that are realistic managerial options. 
 

My only concern would be his reliability on numerous 30+ year olds at Sheff Wed, plus some of his transfers were outright shit. 
 

But overall, getting in Rohl would be a very positive appointment.

Why should Southampton’s appointment make even the slightest bit of difference to ours?

Because on paper, you also expect them to be promotion candidates, and they ended up going for a positive managerial appointment. 
 

Appointing Rohl would be viewed mostly by our fans and opposition fans as a positive appointment, I’d put Rohl in the same bracket as Will Still. If we appointed Dyche for example, he’d be far more of an opinion splitter.

The amount of times fans have overhyped any sort of signing for them to turn out to be shite, from Silva to Tete to Daka. And to then underwhelmed when signing Vardy.
 

I didn’t want Pearson after saving Southampton at our expense in 08, and I laughed at the Ranieri appointment too.

 

Just goes to show that you never know the answer. 
 

Some clubs are a good fit for a person at the time (Nige) 

 

Other clubs could sign peak Messi and he be made to look shite

Fair enough, honest answer.  for me conjecture in life  is in some sense inevitable even in match tactics, some choices are better thought out, but yes, I could be wrong I was sceptical about Ranieri as well but i was very early on Pro Enzo😊, it can always go Pete tong I can’t argue with that but ill still be fist pumping if this comes off.
