Taking JJ off instead of Soumare was a really poor call.

Hooking Mav instead of Ayew was even worse.

He isn’t reading games that well.

Mavididi frustrates the absolute piss out of me but I thought in glimpses tonight he was better, actually looked effective cutting in off the left.

Ayew, on the other hand, is the absolute antithesis of any form of fast, attacking football. Slow, cumbersome, just all around s***e. Carranza looks no better, either. Daka for me out of the 3 at this point. Sigh.

Can’t understand bringing Vk and Dr on.
If he wanted to do something different take Ayew off bring Monga on and put Mavididi on playing behind Carranza.
He does seem to have the Steve Cooper obsession with experienced shit players.

At present we're getting by on having better players.

I've said it before, he needs to decide who he wants to support the wingers.

The wings are undoubtedly the position we have our best attacking players, even with Mav out of form, though much better today I thought.  But we're not giving them a chance to shine.  There's no support from the fullbacks, and playing one 8, generally means there's no inside runs from the midfield either because they're staying at home to help protect Winks.  Scrap the 10.  Doesn't help with the strike options. But he's got to find a way to get the more threatening players into dangerous areas, and we don't.

He’s done okay. Don’t get the typical foxestalk panic. Yeah his subs were questionable but no more questionable than any other manager we’ve had.

the early goal against the run of play completely changed the game against a much more organised championship defence. West Brom went deep which naturally meant they were gonna have lots of space on the counter and some good chances. No different to how we beat Birmingham. Also meant our wingers had no space in behind and we heavily rely on wing play especially as we don’t really have a clinical striker. If they didn’t take that early goal I could of seen us beating them 0-2

If he persists with Ayew up front then I’ll think very little of him - up until now I’ve thought he’s done a good job in difficult circumstances but he’s shooting himself in the foot now

I think he is doing the best we can get from a team full of players who wanted out.many not good enough and a few running down there contracts. Thank god we have some gems like Fatawu, Riccardo and Monga.

The manager is decent with what he has at his disposal.

Ill give him time.  Theres a lot of players to get rid of, limited money and only 2 windows a year to bring players in.  This will take time but im hopeful hes the man for the job

Bizarre weird shite from Marti tonight. There’s no sign of improvement, we struggle with the basics and team selection and subs is atrocious.

I don’t think Marti’s the answer although I think these players are stealing a living

Like others, I am broadly wanting to get behind him but I feel it's already becoming quite difficult to do so unreservedly. His completely inexplicable boner for Ayew, our inability to reliably create decent chances and now academy prospects getting pushed to one side to accommodate failures like Kristiansen and Bob (yes I saw the goal, please don't start). The league position I think belies how good we've actually been and there's certainly plenty of room for improvement.

First half aside from the complete and utter brain fart from Faes we looked the most cohesive and fluent we had all season, but the goal gave West Brom the chance to sit in and deny us any space, it’s the first time I felt Marti didn’t have a structured plan to get us back into the game, 2nd half we looked disjoined and a bit desperate but somehow we got out of jail with a point.

Yes we have issues particularly going forward but for people too be calling for him to be sacked is bed wetting of the highest order.

I’ve seen this a few times now, what about the first half was actually that good?

We kept the ball a bit better than other games?

We had one shot on target all game. We could have carried on until Super Sunday and barely troubled their keeper.

Head had fully fell off before the equaliser.  Spent the last 2 hours watching Soumare, Ayew, Faes, Bobby Reid and Kristiansen lumber around that pitch collecting their pay check turning in the same performances that they always have. Cut the crap Marti and stick to your word about the youth players in this squad.

I’d rather watch a mid table team of our kids that give a fvck over those cretins. Page being nowhere to be seen since the transfer window closed is a farce. Has more about him than any of the over paid carp thrown on there. Plenty of discourse about Nelson on here. Aluko over Kristiansen. Evans back in and around the squad. Sort it out.

Sadly I think we are seeing the best he can do with his knowledge and tactics.

Poor decisions again from the start, this time making them worse at half time.

Nor sure what his tactics are or style of play.  It feels like he’s letting the CBs do what they want and make the same mistakes they have for the last 4 years.  They control the tempo, put others under pressure and when they release the ball it’s into congested areas.

He hasn’t got much in the way of attack apart from pass to the wingers. This has made them greedy and do everything because that’s what is expected of them.

Slow out the back, high line with our slowest and weakest defender.  An obsession with Ayew.
