I don’t think it was a reflection on Alves and Evans or a hint to where they stand, I think it’s more about an opportunity for Marti to see as many of the young players as possible and also managing Abdul’s return.

Page, Monga and Alves for sure need consistent game time in at this level. I think it might still be a bit too soon for Evans.

Reality is as average as Ayew is he’s a good Championship striker and will get goals.  Certainly more likely to score than Daka.

Ayew will be fine at Championship level. Doesn't mean we don't need another striker if they're not giving Evans or Thomas a proper go there, because on that showing I don't even want Daka as backup, he needs to go yesterday.
