Was thinking the same. Stick Nelson in for Vesty and I won’t be devastated if that team start vs Sheff Wed given our current financial situation.

Wonder why they’ve done that with Nelson in particular. I would have assumed he was on the bench as they are rebuilding his fitness.

Great to see the youth in there. Mavididi and Ricardo not starting is odd though. Must have picked up knocks?

 

Only wish we didn't have to see a Vestergaard - Coady CB pairing, but beggars can't be choosers.

 

Edit: Didn't see Nelson on the bench again. That's good! Hopefully gets another set of minutes then.

Did they say this is happening elsewhere to the first game? The young lads on the bench probably sharing an Uber with Marti if so 

 

Think those of us bemoaning Nelson being involved with the first squad can relax a bit with that now in mind. Can't work out if this is the planned first string or if we're being forced to try random combos two weeks before kickoff because the morons in charge dragged their heels getting a new manager and he doesn't know the squad well enough yet.

Quite like how they've managed the minutes today, Two XIs, Bench goes to both, 30-45mins for Fatawu presumably, 40 mins for Nelson and the rest of the bench, nice.
