Hmmmm, Stephy missing is concerning. Coady playing is sickening. Ricky injured is unsurprising

We will get to a stage in the summer where we end up selling someone we want to keep but believe we have other cover just to bring someone else in. I wonder if it’s that.

He does tend to have a few niggly injuries, though I wouldn't be surprised if there was interest in him keeping him out.  But that's a concern for another time.

Stick Nelson in for Vesty

And Coady? You'd prefer fourth choice two years ago under Enzo behind Vesty who was player of the season (or at worst, one of three top players in Winks and KDH)

Is it just me liking the two friendlies in a day idea?

Good that it gets more players substantial minutes and from an entertainment perspective I like that it cuts down on those situations you get where both teams have changed their entire XI in quick succession and any fluency immediately drains out of the game

Has anyone ever missed a higher % of games for us due to injury than Ricardo?

Alex Smithies?

Top 3? Not even close. He did have a good season, same as Faes, but it was so easy for them. Mads, Ricardo, Fatawu, Mavididi even Vardy all ahead of him.

Couldn't really care less if Mavididi does go.

Never particularly seen any of the hype. Just tries to bulldoze his way through defenders and is mostly unsuccessful at doing so.

Can work well at championship level though

Was very poor last time in the championship for a majority,  almost none existent.

Pulled his finger out when he got dropped, but still only looked average.

Subjective but I think he was instrumental..

What isn't subjective is that Enzo thought Coady was garbage two years ago. And even Cooper thought he was garbage last season

Very poor is quite the exaggeration, didn't put up the numbers he probably should have in that side, but I wouldn't even say he was poor let alone very poor lol

He was important yes, though he did have a ridiculously easy job where teams just sat off him and let him use his range of passing.

But the reason he played instead of Coady was because Coady got injured. Make no mistake, Enzo would have picked him ahead of JV but he's not going to break up a successful partnership. Coady was regularly given the armband in pre season which I think shows he was ahead of JV.

Probably means nothing, but interesting choices across the two games. You'd have thought Thomas would've played in this and maybe Aluko in the earlier one?

I think people are reading to much into both team selection it's just about minutes in legs
