So was Coady

I get your point but Coady talks in cliches with self-importance and arrogance whereas Begovic just comes across as calm and confident.

Someone I know is close to the Everton backroom… said Asmir is the most down to earth player he’s ever met, no airs or graces, and great around the changing room with younger players… assume Marti saw this 1st hand at QPR.

Good interview!

Seems very professional. Any idea why he'd know Stolarczyk & Mads "really well", is it just the case all keepers seem to know each other?

Do we have a GK coach yet?

Not officially I don't think. Doubt the keepers would be left without one so do the club bring in a temp freelancer? Dunno.

Begovic has his own academy, a UEFA B license and a **** ton of goalkeeping certifications, so I wonder whether he's studying for his pro license whilst with us and will be in some sort of player/coach role. He's not going to be doing a whole lot else.

someone from the U21s/academy has probably stepped up to the first team until a permanent appointment

No real down side to this is there. He'll barely play and he'll be able to provide a wealth of experience and set really high professional standards in training that Jakub and Bausor will expect to match.

He'll be able to talk them through difficult spells and regale them with stories of coming through the other side of testing moments in his own career.

He must have an eye on coaching too so you'd hope all goalkeepers at the club from first team to youth teams will benefit.

I'm assuming Mads will go but if he doesn't then he'll also feel reassured with an experienced colleague like Begovic to turn to if his own form drops a little like it did last season.

Kasper was playing the the Champions league at 38 last season.

Begovic had a good season at QPR 2 years ago, more that capable if Jakob is injured and an upgrade on Ward and probably Iverson.

If we'd have had him 22/23 we'd have most probably stayed up.

If we had put a chair in goal it would have been more effective that DW

True, but that’s focused on the negative. This is a decent signing I think.

Transfer business complete!

Even with tenuous links on deadline day with Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jay Rodriguez, Che Adams, Ashley Young and some random youngster from Argentina.

It’s funny, only in football were 38 seems ancient

Amazed to learn he's only 38 to be honest.

Only a few months older than Kasper!

I think we will sign a striker if BIL and Mads go.

and I pray we somehow off load the podcaster, Jannik, BDR at a minimum

I believe the current GK coach is Glyn Thompson who is officially in charge of our 16-21s.

Been with us 11 years

A signing that makes sense. I remember suggesting him earlier in the summer and got laugh emojis.
