Facebook comments are insane.

Especially the one where the woman is trying to claim we wouldn't of won the league without the owners like they'd won it for us.

The one about them saving us from Administration too.

I have always found it staggering how we appear to have a segment of our fanbase that are so utterly deluded, thick, out of touch with reality...the list could go on. Managers cant do no wrong, the owners are incredible, the club are impeccable in everything they do. How can they honestly live amongst us, its frightening.

Bloody hell just gets worse. Correct me if wrong but I don't remember us being under threat of administration before they brought us? I could be wrong though.

Ironically the Trust helped play a part in navigating the club through that time in history.

Where I somewhat disagree with the Trust's statement is that the criticism of the Thai military support messaging is that it's a political statement. Politics does have place in football because literally everything is political. The examples you have given I.e. poppies, taking the knee and rainbow laces are political statements, however, not only are they league/nationwide football initiatives, they are also far more applicable to the history of Leicester City and the immediate surrounding environment. The poppy commemorates those that have died in wars involving the country where Leicester City is based. Not only that, Leicester City staff and supporters will have fought and died in those wars, so it is relevant to the history of the club. The rainbow laces is a symbolic gesture to try and promote a safe environment for those in football who are LGBT including those working at the club and Leicester fans inside the stadium. The same applies to ethnic minorities with players taking the knee. Another really key distinction is that the players could opt out if all these initiatives. James McClean doesn't wear a poppy, Wilfred Zaha didn't take the knee and many players have refused to wear rainbow laces or armbands.

A clear distinction must be made between these initiatives and Thai milatery support being promoted on behalf of Leicester City. That hashtag leads you to very one-sided information, essentially propaganda. It's completely inappropriate.

Those topics can become politicised, but they are not in themselves political messaging. Being inclusive and respectful to all, regardless of race or sexuality is not a political statement. Poppies commemorate any British national who lost their life in a war, it does not commemorate or support those wars or conflicts.

Sounding like a broken record, they are political and political messaging. They just happen to be things we agree with and don’t find controversial.

Depressingly, I think we’ll see greater uproar’ over rainbow laces as those who are anti it focus on the T part of lgbtq+ inclusion initiative to mask their homophobia. Just as the BNP dropped the focus on race and rebadged themselves in different guises to be anti immigration to add respectability

It's the post-truth world. A lot of the pushback on the Trust message has been wrapped around thinking there is an issue with the Thai flag. When it's not, it's rather the message which was carrying (which had a Thai flag has a background).
