He played 27 games last season, we know he is a quality keeper, but £20m I think personally is a great price for him…… I mean he is quality, but I think we’ve kind of had West Ham’s pants down a bit.

There has been no pants pulled down, it's a good deal all round.

-West Ham have the keeper they wanted.

-Mads gets to play in the prem, which he deserves.

-we get to ease our financial worries and hopefully be able to sign a striker.

Be nice to have a little bit of transparency from the club now. Why would we sell our #1 goalkeeper?!

Is it for the PSR calcs? So we can strengthen? Bit of both? Or was Mads pushing for it and we didn’t want to stand in his way?

Obviously I can read between the lines, but why should I have to.

Transfer has genuinely annoyed me…and the day before the first game of the season. Joke of a club.

I'm all for being annoyed at the running of the club, but this isn't one of the things to be annoyed at.

Was always being sold, we have a replacement.

Worst thing we could have done is hold out for an unachievable price and leave it too late to re-invest any funds.

I'll jump on your bandwagon if we make no signings. Until then, it looks like necessary and sensible business.

He’s a Leicester fan too, you’d hope he’s not getting it wrong, he’s been on fire this summer too

For some reason, he tends to get a lot incorrect about Leicester even though he supports us. Romano and BBC RL said the fee was different and they’re more trustworthy.

At least his bio says so, but a couple summers ago he was willing the Fofana transfer to Chelsea into existence which was proper weird behaviour.

Ben Jacobs knows absolutley fck all. Hes as reliable as IndyKaila

He does what I'd do if I wanted to be a journalist and build a social media following as an itk..

He makes educated and reasonable guesses and twists every rumour by a few degrees for clicks..the classic fake it til you make it merchant..

Example BJ rumour;

Leicester willing to part with BEK for upwards of 20m. Monaco thought to be monitoring situation

Boo.
He was potentially part of our core for a long time, still very young for a keeper and seems a calm character. He could serve West Ham for years, it’s a steal and if we disagree on that and the fee it’s another result of the financial situation and relegation both of which no f***er at the club has spoken about or taken responsibility for.

Jakub is good but I don’t think he has quite as high a potential ceiling to his eventual development (I don’t mean he’s shorter!)

A sad day for the club, and it’s on the club, they found a talent and have now lost him like a bar of wet soap slipping through their hands. I don’t want their happy clappy noise about Jakub being good, it’s a consequence of mismanagement.

Particularly leaving for a club of West Hams stature. Five years ago we would've laughed at such a bid and West Ham a bottom half Premier league side. Oh how times have changed.

He can be a bit clickbaity anti LCFC sometimes like in this instance which is strange if he’s a fan.

I assume the “evil Darwin Nunez” lookalike in these pictures is Mads agent… in which case I can see why we ended up accepting West Ham’s offer.

yeah it's his agent Marc Nygaard, ex-QPR striker

£18m is nothing in today's market. It helps us out re PSR, represents around £12m profit to us and we have an able goalkeeper ready to step up at this level. But for a fee between two English clubs, £18m is peanuts in 2025, especially from a club that's as guaranteed to stay in the Premier League as they've ever been, even if they have a disastrous season.

Outside of the 'cartel' clubs, there isn't that much money knocking around with PSR, apart from clubs that have sold a player or 2 for decent money. Would have been nice to have got a few more million but it's not as terrible a deal as many are making out. We just aren't in a good enough financial position to play hardball and West Ham could have just gone elsewhere. Keeping Mads would have been nice but seeing as we have Stolarczyk, if we can now use that money to get a striker then happy days.

Yeah that's fair. I'm not saying it was a bad deal for us, and clubs have to choose where they put their money wisely. But PSR can often mean that a frugal period can then be followed by massive spending, especially if good player sales have been made. West Ham might not currently have that capability to spend big but with some of the fees flying around I still think £18m is low in today's market.

I would have preferred him over Jakob… but only just, so I think he was pretty overrated

So blantanly never played a real game of 11 a side in your life then, just been watching it  from the stands. As being a keeper myself, he was absloute quailty keeper, his  feet work and reflex  saves were another level, just didnt have defensive support last season. No wonder west ham have him on a 5 year contract,  if hes goes again there cashing in.

Best of luck to him. He's going to be an incredible keeper in time, and I think we'll miss him, as much as I want Jakub to succeed.

Maybe I'm being precious, but I hope he puts something out there to say goodbye. At least he took the time to do that lap in his final game though.

Everyone of his exclusives has come in tandem with another reporter. Wouldn't say he's on fire at all.
