Quick ? He’s never been that good had he ? Hype Job and that’s it.

Have you been on the booze? Because you really sound irrational and aggressive tonight towards a lad who’s really not been given a decent opportunity or treated all that well by our club. I don’t get your hate.

We are too quick to build youngsters up as Alves broke into an injury hit squad very young then had a terrible injury before recovering and playing 20 games or so in the champs in a relegated side where he was average. Defenders and midfielders so young need to be top top quality to physically and mentally be ready to play under the expectations we have especially with such limited men’s football experience - Monga maybe an exception due to his unbelievable talent but we want promotion and some of the youngsters just need to play - be it league 1 or 2 some like Alves just need to play. Like Nelson he is not ready to play top end expectation championship football and needs a loan - than less we write the season off and bed in youngsters in the belief over time we can get up.

It was a tough night all round, lots of changes, and it was Alves, Monga and Page’s full debut…. Which we need to remember, they’re not seasoned pro’s they’re all still young. Monga is a special talent who’s a rarity, and Page looks extremely composed for a young lad. Will suffered a near career ending injury at a young age, and has had a huge psychological hurdle to overcome. I won’t be singling any of the young lads out, they’re just stuck in a rotten system. Those who need criticising seat in the corporate areas.

I think he's at a point in his career where he really needs to excel and prove his worth.

I don't think being a back up player, playing every now and again, will be of benefit to him at all.

Needs to be playing consistently.

There's clearly a player in there, somewhere, but he's looked none existent every time he's featured and i can't see that changing with him sat on the bench for the majority of the season.

Think he might do better abroad at this stage of his career. He was bullied off the ball a number of times and this will be his problem with a loan as EFL refs allow it.

Yes he wasn’t great but the movement of the attacking players around him (bar Monga at times) was shocking, this didn’t leave pockets of space for him to move into.

nobody seemed to want the ball most of the night and unless he stood on the half way line or deeper all the time he was on, the ball wouldn’t have been played into him.

I also think it is about time certain fans stop writing off the whole Leicester career of academy players when they have played the equivalent of less than 10 games of senior football

Absolutely. Can't stand the ones who go well over the top about them either. Both do my head in.

Even Barnes got hammered until he left.

And brought on several times and changed the game for Cardiff

This is why I am more of the opinion he's best suited as an impact player wide left or right. I don't think he has the timing to find space centrally currently and more often than not at Cardiff he was effecting games when coming on and very quiet when starting games.

When the game opens up he gets a fair amount of joy down out wide. Very good crosser of the ball too.

He was hauled off several times at half time

And still he got 4 goal contributions in just 669 minutes. Pretty good return.

Who's the first player a manager is going to haul off? The young winger. Wouldn't read much into that

And that is one of the biggest failings of our academy. How many players are ever given that many games? Almost none but when they are they stick

Imagine if Soumare was held to the same standard as our academy players? He’d have been hounded out by now.

Some genuinely jump at the chance to stick the boot in.

Did well for a dreadful Cardiff team in this league though. He's got to at least be given a chance. Compare him to lads like Hamza and Kasey who are crap but got loads of opportunities. He's got way more talent so should be afforded the same.

He did OK for Cardiff. Nothing more. Just feels like his bad injury has ****ed his career and he'll never be what we hoped he would be, however much we will it to be so.

Just because it's an absolute disgrace that players so lacking in ability as Hamza and Kasey get minutes,  doesn't necessarily mean that Alves should.

It's a shame.

We're the ones failing him, not the other way round. He should be off on another half/full season loan to get a whole season under his belt post injury... not sitting around waiting for a chance because we don't have enough ****ing options because we're brassic.

He needs starts, week in week out. He won't get that here this season and we will kill him if he's getting ten mins here or there for the next 4 months.

We're out the cup, he HAS to go out on loan.

Totally agree with this. Even if it's Div 1, he needs to be playing week in week out and he's not going to be doing that here.

Daka, Soumare have been crap for 4 years, I think we can give our academy lads more than a couple of games.

Was he poor tonight, yes, was he the only one no.

Needs more minutes to build up some momentum,.similar to Nelson.

I thought that Alves was unlucky to get pulled off at half time.

I would've preferred to see him on the wing in the second half instead of McAteer.
