Has he got more potential than anyone in the squad? Likely..

 

Is his progression being stumped by the dross around him? Definitely..

 

But...we can't pretend he's blowing any one away. Hes got like 2 goal contributions in over 500 minutes of football in a shit league and has been quite wasteful at times.

 

Granted, its not ideal that a player who should be being nurtured and developed has the pressure of being the star player..

 

But yeah....sentiment aside, can we really sit here and say he' been great?

Same amount of goal contributions as Luke Thomas 😬

 

But is definitely one of our better players, great at running with the ball just poor decision making/final ball.

If that post higher up is accurate and he’s not even played 40 games in his career poor decision making is probably expected!

I would assume he’s been playing football almost his whole life, he should know when to pass, cross or shoot.

Didn't say he'd been great, just better than the rest.

 

Who playing better than him or as well? 

 

I'd say only him, Lundstrum, Riis, Page and Joseph have shown and consistent level of performance, maybe Braybrooke at a push.

I’d say page has impressed me more than alves, however, page’s shooting has been shocking

Alvez & braybrooke are forming a great relationship. If they keep improving at this rate they will be something special by the time we get promoted (if & when) of course

Different players but I’d say page Braybrooke and Alves totally deserve a starting spot if they are fit. Along with the likes of lundstram and Riis and maybe Doyle a proper team to challenge in this division is clear to see.

Yep. There were rumours that he had a bad attitude at Huddersfield at that never seemed to fit from the little I knew of him. Now he's playing in a position that limits him and is anything but natural (given he's known for all his tricks), and his application and willingness to put in a shift there is brilliant to see.

 

Had high hopes for him and still loads to improve on but he's surprised me in so many ways. He's a lot quicker than I realised and Barnsley aside, I'd say his end product is actually pretty good. His crossing is miles better than I expected. Generally speaking, even his bad crosses are still into a dangerous area or delivered in a way that they can be recycled on the other flank. You take for granted how refreshing it is to see a player not constantly hit the first man.

 

Hope for a high G/A output but he's arguably our most key player currently because his pace and directness aren't skills we've got elsewhere in the squad. He can still have a brilliant season even with very modest output as he creates problems for the opposition

Personally think he's better on the left as it gives him a bit more freedom but this system completely falls apart if he's not in there, so I see your point
