Unfortunately for some of you, it’s quite clear that Faes is our best centre half. Again we improved when he came on which is strange considering he’s a centre half. I think he has to start against Charlton, alongside Nelson.

The fact that a moody, highly erratic and very average player is our best defender is a half the problem. Just like our only strikers are Ayew who isn't a striker and Daka who isn't a professional footballer.

Literally doesn't matter at all whether they do. Their players had better application and desire and that's been evident against us in a number of games already. Really doesn't matter if "on paper" we have better players. That doesn't make a team. Its not a difficult concept to understand.

Agree, I am suggesting new players won’t do much as the rot is so engrained. Which is a bit of a bugger.

Embarrassing, if you clown didn’t force our Steve Cooper we would be top half, looking forward to Burnley next week.

Instead, we’re going to get battered by Charlton.

…… but it’s always someone else’s fault.

Cooper wasn't keeping us up. We were out because Wolves and Palace had abysmal starts to the season, they weren't going to continue like that. At most we'd have finished slightly closer to spurs.

Hahaha some of you youngsters got a reality check recently. Many of you jumped on the bandwagon when we won the Premier league, quarter finals of the champions league and won the FA Cup etc. You thought that was the real Leicester City. I got news for you boys. This is the real Leicester City that we are watching right now. You are panicking with one loss. Imagine how you are gonna be after the next 44 matches 😂

Pipe down, Boomer.

The core of this forum has been there for it all. League One, Josh Low on the wing, David Pleat, administration, the lot.

You are assuming two things, both false.

One, that the average age of this forum is the same as Jeremy Monga. Most of us are more concerned about male pattern baldness and our kids' school league table rankings than some virgin Andrew Tate fan calling us brokies on TikTok. Hence why you'll see most of us have been here for anywhere between 15 and 20 years.

Second, that age brings knowledge and wisdom. Christ, you only have to look at age and voting choices over the past 20 years to see that that's horseshit.

It's because we've seen us go from a decent Premier League side to skint Championship plodders that we're aware of the warning signs and can spot them loud and clear now. Between 2000 and 2004, we went from a regular top 10 Premier League side who'd played three Wembley finals in four seasons and were playing in Europe to a skint Championship side in 15th place four years later. Exactly the same timescale we'll have experienced between a European semi-final at Roma to the end of this season. And it's all self-inflicted, every bit of it.

Every fan wants the best for their club. If we're on the backs of the player, manager or board, it's because we want better. We're a big enough club to maintain it as we and others have proved. We'd rather have a competent board than sing for their removal.

If you have kids who keep ****ing up, do you just let them do it? Or do you advise them, help them to make better choices and even bollock them if necessary? Bollocking them isn't a sign of a lack of love or loyalty towards the football club any more than it is towards a child who keeps doing ****ing stupid things. Because right now our board is the equivalent of a straight A student who got great GCSE grades and has spent their whole Sixth Form experience skiving school, refusing to revise and fingering girls behind the bike sheds. It's the squandered potential that grates, because we've seen what they can do what they try.

You have said yourself, there are many issues, the players are not energised, not trying, almost going through the motions. I would argue replacing the players will achieve little.

The change needs to be more seismic.

Replacing Vestergaard, Soumare and Daka is not in the slightest bit hard though and would instantly improve us because we would have more energy mobility and hunger. Nelson and Page and even probably Evans or one or two loans or just any teens would be an upgrade on ability and attitude.

Moody? I’m not sure about that. He’s one of the most approachable players I’ve ever met. Of course being a pro you should be able to take some stick but I will always stand by “don’t give it out if you can’t take it back” - I’m not saying he’s brilliant but at this level he’s more than capable.

Just because he looks like he doesn’t care, doesn’t mean that he actually doesn’t.

Not seen our managers comments after the game, what did he have to say about the sh*tshow?

Not good enough, need to keep the ball better, in a nutshell.

Positives:

- Monga

- Okoli

- Cifuentes changed the system mid-game and it had a positive impact. At least he's flexible

Negatives:

- It looks like a lack of communication at the back. Not just on the goals but a few other scares. Basic stuff

- We still have a total unwillingness to run, especially in the middle of the park

- We absolutely cannot start with Ayew up top on his own. We just have no way into the box because he won't stretch them

- Thomas and Justin are the worst full back combination possibly in the football league. Toothless in the tackle, afraid to show for the ball and atrocious when they do receive it. Drop them at all costs

Summary:

We need a striker and a capable midfielder who's going to put a shift in, to allow us to start in that 3-4-3 formation. At the absolute minimum. We need Ricardo desperately and hopefully we just about get away with Kristiansen.

Come off it, he's played a large part in both our relegations due to being error prone and out of position a lot. He looks OK at this level so he's a good championship defender. You should never have a go at your own fans, he earns a ridiculous amount each week and needs to wind his neck in. The thick cvnt needs to know most of the 'boos' were people chanting wout anyway. Can't stand him or most of this squad who all look like they couldn't give a shit. Get rid ASAP of the poison.

Even if that is the case then I don't think he's the thick **** in the situation because that's not how you say his name

Faes is our best CB, however much that pains you. Not great, but our best by a margin

Just home. One thing I noticed today, they dont talk to eachother.  No communication , nobody shouting, its weird.

With so many players that want out we are never going to achieve much.

We’re in that shitty August predicament where the transfer window is open, certain players could be on the brink of moving, while a select few clearly don’t want to be here.

The mentality at Leicester City is probably the lowest it’s been since the shitty era of 05-08. I’ve been getting terrible vibes for the past season, that we could be on the brink of that type of era again.

Nothing changes until a certain core of players leave Leicester City. We’ve gone into a season again with Faes and Vestergaard as centre back options. Our midfield needed a refresh last season, yet this season we’re a body short. While we’ve started the season with Ayew as our main striker.

That just indicates what a mess we’re in.

Cifuentes has a massive job on his hands. He needs to revamp the culture, the bad eggs at this football club all need binning off, it’s time for him to get ruthless.

Otherwise as @Dan said, we could end up being another Stoke City.

Do you really think after today, that our players are the problem? I am genuinely curious.

I think a few of them certainly are, but the bigger issue are the powers that be that 'run' the club.

There’s a slight difference there. Stoke’s owners twice tried to overhaul the squad and backroom staff. It failed but they had a go. Look like they might have right now.

Ours ain’t even bothering

It's hard to replace them if no one wants to buy them

Sorry folks, was super unclear earlier, I don’t technically think these players are below the required standard, but I agree that they are performing well below the level we would expect, the cause of this low level of application must surely lie outside of the players themselves.

I’m not sure I agree. The emotional attachment I have to this club goes back significantly further than his does. But sometimes you have to wake up and smell the roses.

This is where people are getting it twisted when I say I'm not really bothered about today. I love this club, it's been one of the biggest parts of my life for three decades now.

But the absolutely scandalous way we've been run into the ground and the knowledge that nothing will change, except for the worse, under this ownership and with the majority of this squad, has beaten the passion out of me.

I was more invested in my non-league team today than the one that's in my blood, that I've followed to Swindon and Sevilla, Macclesfield and Madrid. That's just sad, it shouldn't be like this.

And the realist in me knows it needs to get worse before something drastic happens that will correct our course. The 'we were in league one once' sycophants will have another season there to enjoy soon at this rate, because the parallels are more with our 2004-05 squad right now.
