I think he could improve but he’s never gonna be better than championship level.
As a winger he never seems to beat a full back which is what you want from a wide player.
I wouldn’t be against him going but we don’t seem to even be linked with anyone to replace these players that are gone or supposedly going.

Can't really pass, take a man on, or cross.

Half decent finish on him but he'll never be a winger good enough for us, unless we get relegated again. Which, tbf...

I think he’s a decent squad option but would be fools to turn down £5m+ of pure profit. I actually reckon Evans could make a similar if not better impact from the bench

Thibk its more to do with the fact he's a lower level champ/upper level league 1 player. The away that spell 2 seasons ago and he's been absolutely pony

Which is exactly the club we are. Baffles me anyone can think that a player like McAteer is not good enough for us.

I never said he started for us. I do find it odd that a club who are one of the favourites to go straight back up can see his potential, yet the club he’s at can’t

He is not good enough for the championship, if we can get money sell. Loads of players in the academy can offer more than him.

Bar his 4 goals in the opening games a couple of seasons ago I just dont see what he contributes other than working hard… he has very limited ability, can’t go past a player, rarely finds his man with end product… just very average…

should have took the money when Everton came calling

If we were buying him for £5m I’d be cursing JR again.

Finally a chance to weaken an opponent.  He will never make it unless he stops second guessing everything he does and take too long to attempt it.  His goals have came from him just reacting. Would be a better goal poacher than Daka but I can't see any useless manager we get try anything remotely adventurous.

Some say good off the bench, comes off the bench and does nothing.

He's quite far down the pecking order...so it's a definite sell if the price is decent.

However, think his atitiude is better than others in the squad and being home grown, worried we end up which just the bad eggs left once this window is complete.

Same can be said for Hamza.

I can confirm a great Anglia train left Ipswich this morning and arrived at Liverpool street station. Shortly after, a train left St Pancreas and arrived in Leicester 30 ago. Taxi seen leaving Leicester train station. Whereabouts unknown..

Uncanny. Deal done then.

We're reaching the point where we need to get those transfers going out done, if indeed we intend to reinvest in the squad (which I'm not convinced is going to happen). The last thing we need is a deadline day of panic buying and we end up with another 3 or 4 players of the ilk of Skipp, BDCR, Ayew and Edouard. I know sometimes there is a domino effect, but at present we are still stuck with too many players who have the wrong attitude, lacking commitment or not really good enough.

He's a decent squad filler yet at the same time, not only do you not want him starting games but nothing excites you about him coming off the bench. So what's the point in him really, except giving our starters 20mins off at the end of a game if we've already wrapped up the result

Didn't we turn down 9 mill for him in January? It's not like he was instrumental in the second half of the season.

Yes. To be fair it was obligation on promotion for Sunderland which at the time didn't look all that likely.  It didn't really look likely until the 95th minute of the playoff final really.
