How weird and random.

Big admirer of Kasey’s work rate, but in terms of 1 vs 1 ability he isn’t good enough and not really a Marti type winger.

Hard working fits the McKenna mould

Disagree. Sorry.

He will be very useful at Ipswich. Look at what they achieved with s*!t like Wes Burns on their wing...

Haha no need to apologise, disagreement on subjective things is what makes the game interesting to talk about (well most of the time anyway :D

What do you think he'll bring to the team that they have lost in Hutchinson?

Spending spree over the last few days of the window is going to be epic!

Rudkin just saving up, adding Kasey to the kitty, getting closer and closer to his Bamford target.

There's a player in there if you work on a new position with him, because he's simply not a winger.

But 4 managers now haven't seen it that way so what do I know.

Likeable lad and local but he’s just not at the level of our other players in the same position.

If there are any left!

He works well for the team, but I don't know what else he offers and I can't see any potential to improve his all round game. If we can get 5+million PSR profit, then this is a no brainer and we do not see a need to replace our 4th choice winger. This leaves us with the options below;

Mavididi/Monga/Alves     Fatawu/Wanya/Evans

Going to go against the grain here and say I'm not too sure we should sell. Genuinely think if he was given a run as a striker he'd surprise a lot of people. That said, no manager so far has tried him out in that role, so what do I know. If the intention is to keep playing him as a winger then I agree with the majority that it's probably best to part ways as I don't think he's particularly great in that position.

One of the few that leaves nothing on the pitch

Does nothing on the pitch either, tbf, davie.

Aye maybe but there's so many more in this team that do neither that I'd like to see more effort in moving them on as we can't replace them all.

Problem with selling kasey is that some other academy graduate will have to take the brunt of the moaning late in games.

the group which should be shouted at have exhausted their collective insults over the past few seasons.

I think it's more about what this represents for the bigger picture rather than what you think of Mcateer as a footballer.

If we sell him now and we don't replace we are in serious ****ing problems

Sell. They aren't a promotion rival (we aren't going up) and we might've just had a second bite here at getting a fee for him. He's never been much good. Maresca duped people.

I can't accuse him of being a shirker like I can most of them but that alone isn't enough to not sell an overpriced player. Was absolutely preposterous we didn't make it happen in January so no doubt we get this wrong again.

This with a million red flags - £10m incoming transfer fees against last year's financial year. Which means this financial year we have to sell excessively.

The fact that he could play lots of different positions means he's quite useful. I don't see what we gain in selling him as the money won't be reinvested.

Thes different positions, is he actually any good in any of them?

Absolutely!

Yes there is a big drop off between Hutchinson & McAteer. But they do have Philogene on the left who I think will be his more direct replacement.

McAteer would probably slot in on the right, where their best option atm is Clarke, who is a bit wasteful.

My main worry about this is that Ipswich seem to do very good things with not very much. If we sell him to them it could end up biting us on the arse...

No idea if he could be converted into a good striker but there’s no way we would try to anyway. He’s not good enough out wide so if we can get some cash it’s probably about time.

Despite my wanting to sell him. As a player I like his work ethic and he seems like a top boy. I just don't think he has the ability needed to make the impact on games we need.

We have 3 players and one is waiting to go palace. The other 2 are Monga and Fatawu.

While we insist on playing a derivation of pep ball that is cautious passing and relying on isolated players to create something out of nothing we badly need more people that can make something out nothing.
