I'd rather have a player who wants to be here definitely

So another spineless gimp who rubs your tummy and smiles. Ok.

Ignoring the obvious attitude issues, there are still problems with Wout as an actual defender. (Personally I sort of liked that he gave the Leicester fans some stick after bagging the winner.)

He's average in a number of areas where he needs to excel as a defender.

He has enough pace to be mobile, but still gets left behind by Prem strikers regularly.

He's about 6 foot but not big enough to command his box.

He's not weak but regularly gets muscled off the ball in 50-50s by strikers who aren't necessarily monsters themselves.

Micky Antonio used to bully him every time they played on all three of these fronts.

He's confident, but I never really see him marshalling the defence taking the lead.

He does make some interceptions Infront of the defence, but still gets caught out when his reading of the game lets him down.

If he could excel in at least one of these areas there would be a case for him to stay. But his talent ceiling is upper Championship and his attitude suggests he's upper premier league.

He's best off gone.

Luckily I put that after you posted but hey ho.

I have put Winks in the team for B/ham and he is not rubbing anyones belly or smiling he's just better than what we have Wout Faes is not.

No argument on Winks, midfield is  a serious issue. Wout is about the same level as the rest of our defenders (Just more arsey and more arrogant)

I still think he is our best defender at the club (not exactly a compliment)

However, he certainly has some weaknesses and is not good enough in the Premier League.

He undoubtedly does have some attitude problems, as I don't ever recall a player being so over the top at blaming others when conceding goals.

Despite all this, I would still have him starting games for us IF he was happy to stay and fight for the club - I just don't think he is though.

Therefore, I would sell him if someone comes in and we can clear his wages from the books.

Funnily enough he might be our best defender but if we had a back line only consisting of a cloned wout faes

We would still be in the championship

All of our defenders have clear faults one way or another Ricardo (injury prone), Justin (lack of defensive awareness), Thomas (athleticism), vesty (pace), okoli (on the ball)

the difference with faes is he doesn’t have footballing issues at all. It’s all in his head and down to concentration/ stupidity.  It’s hard to argue he’s not a better footballer than the others (Ricardo excluded) just absolutely no consistency from him.

How do we benefit from terminating player contracts when they're unhappy if they have market value?

Would be an idiotic idea from a business standpoint.

If Bilal says he's unhappy do we terminate his contract so he can be happy elsewhere?

I didn't say we terminate his contract.

You said if he's unhappy why not terminate his contract. Contract terminations are a mutual decision.

I still remember after we got spanked by Spurs how there were people absolutely over the moon with his performance, wild time.

Get him and that stupid haircut gone.

that’s not a haircut. In fact it’s the exact opposite. It’s a non-haircut!

Just on your last sentence.
unfortunately, the way the club is being run.

Top - incompetent

Rudkin- clueless

cooper and RVN- absolutely terrible appointments

scouting and recruitment - 25 million on Skipp when we have huge finical issues. Reid and Ayew at Pl level. Say no more

fans- 18 months of dire football having seen our once proud club with players and fans united, fall to this…

players- a handful play for the shirt now! Not a team of players. Sulking, moaning and walking off the pitch.
Forced to sell every player who we receive any offer for. I personally fear Fatawu will be sold this week too.
social media- really poor for the last few seasons of any content or fan engagement. Constant training videos of players smiling or happy birthday messages. Nothing that actually matters.

Martin has an incredibly difficult job after years of sustained decline and poor decisions with no accountability

I would guess that fans see Faes throwing his arms around and looking to blame others for goals conceded as the attitude problem. When he wants, he is our best defender! After a few seasons I think best he moves on and we try with Okoli, Nelson / Vestegaard.

Yeah, couldn’t agree more.

If Rudkin or Top were on the pitch, no one would pay much attention to Faes.

But, yes, his time here is up.
