And Faes has looked off the pace many times for us over his contract. Over the course of a season I back Nelson more.

Whilst I fully want Nelson to be a success and to be clear I can’t stand Wout - I personally remain unsure if Nelson is ready and Faes for all his faults is above this level it’s his bloody attitude and lack of awareness that do my head in

i love the support for our young players but also believe they need to play more first team football in lower leagues and his short stint last season would be better suited to another loan imo - the expectation and pressure at our club is a lot than less you are an absolute natural like Monga and it’s easier in attacking positions than defensive ones to be risked

Selling our joint top scoring. Which strikers coming in to replace him?

Odd feeling because hes far and away our best center back until Nelson beds himself in properly, but id gladly see him gone.

Pretty much every manager we've had has played him over vestergaard in the premier League.

I'd rather others left before him tbh, though he obviously does have mistakes in him I think he's a better footballer than the others.

I hear what you're saying, but those four managers were Rodgers (who effectively got us relegated), Smith (who did get us relegated), Cooper (to whom very few on here would give the time of day) and Ruud (who also got us relegated). They're not necessarily the best judges of ability!

If you think Wout Faes is above championship level then I dont know what to tell you. Pick a random championship highlights from 23/24 and there is almost always a gaff from him and Vestergaard.

Watch Faes in the highlights of this Milwall game, constantly out of position. Still a bombscare even at championship level.

People seem to have convinced themselves that those two were Baresi and Maldini last time in the championship when they were just as shakey as ever. We will seriously struggle to get promoted with either of those two at the back.

Nelson on loan at Oxford last season was just as good or better than those two in 23/24.

Forgot about that one, what is he doing there lol. The hands up afterwards as well ffs.

I see our future this season in those highlights if we dont take this opportunity to shift Faes (and Daka). It doesnt look pretty.

There are so many players who I want rid of in this squad, I'm not even sure if Faes is in my top 5, as bad as he's been for the most part in his time with us. I worry in particular that we're now going to be continuing to play the static Vesty in this  kamikaze formation used by Marti, where we leave only the 2 CBs back when we're in possession. We saw how that played out at Preston, who are not especially noted for their rapid counter attacks. The only hope is that we will see some incomings soon if we keep draining the swamp at this rate. That said, given who is in charge of recruitment, it's hard to be confident that the new recruits will be any better than those who've departed.

While Soumare gets a lot of stick on here, Wout Faes is much more of a problem imo.. at least Soumare just gets on with it even though he probably don't want to be here, same with Vesterguard he has played well I think in the first game and was fully committed.

Hopefully we can move Faes, Winks and VK on before the window shuts.

Skipp and Soumare are less of a problem.

I want him to go for the sake of both parties but ıf he plays with one leg Paulista or the shortest Norwegian ever Svenson, they could throw him to the sea beside the stadium 🤣😅

I always use the tried and tested method of looking at the team sheet before a game. Whenever I do that and see Faes, I have a little shudder and a shake of the head. He's not the future, he's currently the present and a symptom of why we don't like watching us at the moment.

Hopefully, he'll soon be a chapter of 'when Leicester were poor' and we can look back and smile at the fact that he's finally buggered off.

He looked well off the pace against Huddersfield

it’s fair to say young players can blow hot and cold sometimes. And developing that consistency is what will set him apart. But I’d rather play someone who’s heart is with us and who might have an off game,  that an over paid player who doesn’t want to be here and doesn’t play any better anyway.

It is often said that players that want away should be sold and clearly Faes is unhappy at the moment and he has had a lot of stick from fans from previous seasons. He is a quality player at this level and probably as good as we have  in the back 4.
The worry is that half the team seems unhappy and there is no sign of the exodus stopping.
