Just feel we have collapsed into an almost inescapable funk, and we probably need to scorch the earth of most who have been here during, and contributed to, this funk. Harsh in parts, but we have to change the mindsets at the club, and likely starts with youth and new faces.

Probably poorly placed hope, but hope nonetheless.

Yup,. I agree. The whole place needs a footballing fumigation.

I just take issue that Faes has become a conduit for it all. Funny, although there's no doubt he'd prefer out (and which international players wouldn't want a move to a top division?) visually his attitude has appeared much better than some others during his minutes on the pitch

Tend to agree. People don’t like him because he is not meek and won’t accept the criticism like a good little rich boy.

He is definitely one of our better defenders, although he is prone to lapses in judgement. (He plays for us, it’s hardly amazing that this is the case).

Still, as part of a wider burn, happy enough for him to clear off.

This is a tough one. Faes gets a lot of stick because he can drop the odd bollock and he does come across a bit arrogant. He’s definitely been part of the decline. But for me, he’s still our best defender, especially in the championship. He's a Belgium international for god sake. He offers more than the others. No doubt we need a reset but I think I'd rather see Okoli or Vestergaard go before Faes.

Agree. What we'll lose is his ability to bring the ball forward and join attacks, when teams are sitting deep as they often will.

We need to get player with the right attitude in but when he bought him he was overjoyed. Apparently was driving and had to stop to have a cry.

Things change though I guess.

He probably thought we were a pathway to a big move to chelsea/man united.

We still are! You obviously need to prove yourself though and he possibly let himself down and wasn't quite good enough.

We need to drastically reshape the squad and that means clearing out players who have checked out, or are looking for the exit door. Regardless of talent, a player who isn’t fully committed is going to be nowhere near as effective as a player who may be less technically gifted but wants to be here. Last week showed me regardless of the name, reputation or potential of some of our squad, too many showed they are going through the motions.

For me we need to move on Faes, Winks, Soumare, VK & Daka whilst I also think BEK will go as well. Then hopefully that creates sufficient headroom to bring in 3 or 4 loans, a couple of free transfers and for us to be able to spend on a striker.

It's all well and good celebrating this, but he is one of our best players. Certainly our best defender. Maybe says more about the other defenders and more about the club that it does Faes himself.

I mean, I'm all for a refresh and reset. But don't kid yourselves that sellingwill be some kind of miracle cure for our problems

Even if you believe he is one of our best players, he's proven nowhere near good enough for the PL so might as well sell whisky we can. Got a stinking attitude to boot. Makes much more sense to give Nelson and Okoli time together or take a punt on another CB who may have the potential to be better.

Faes is emblematic of all that is wrong with the team - he is arrogant, he thinks he's better than he is, his wretched arm waving and has questionable commitment having wanted to jump ship for years.

On top of all that, he is crap and almost universally loathed among the fans. The club cannot rebuild until the decks have been cleared of the toxic elements such as Faes, Vestergaard, Soumare and Coady.

Hopefully Faes will become the second off that list.

Might take some time and unlikley to result in a highly competive team in the near future. But probably a necessary process

It does. He isn't a bad footballer but too often just doesn't do enough to stop shots going in.

I've half written this season off. The club is trying to cut costs and re-organise (any decent club would communicate this to supporters, obviously) so reshaping the squad is the way to go. If we get good money then best to sell. Of course it won't solve every problem.

I really don't agree. I'd say 1 in 10 games he plays a blinder but those other 9 games he'll give away at least one major goal scoring opportunity to the opposition, he's got the concentration of an 8 year old who's just eaten a bag of Haribo.

To an extent I would agree. However, I see him as more of a blocker than best player. As he is perceived to be our best defender, he plays whenever fit. This cost Okoli playing and Nelson getting game time this season. Okoli should have played every game last season and learnt about the game here. He should have had 20 PL games and started the championship with a more settled defensive unit.

Faes might be our best defender but has been a huge reason we have been relegated on 2 occasions. We need a change and moving him on is the best for the club. Will be on a high wage (not his fault). And by reports attitude is poor.

you are correct that selling him will not be a miracle cure. Just hopefully provides more of a chance for Okoli and Nelson to form a partnership and us to move on with players who want to be here.

Looks like this is moving

For those saying we cant afford tk lose our 'best defender' selling Wout Faes is addition by subtraction. We will only improve by getting attitudes like his out of the team.

Faes is our best defender on the pitch, but his attitude stinks and I'm sure he is a massive part of the problem in the dressing room.

Best defender (low bar) or not he’s a massive c**t who doesn’t want to be here! I’d sooner get a few quid and his wages off the books and replace him with a youngster who is proud to be part of the team
