We should definitely get rid of players who don't want to be here, and his attitude has not been good.

BUT - he's our best defender. I think we will be seriously lacking without him. He is the only defender who is willing to drive forward with the ball when we really need to push up the pitch and things aren't working. I don't think we have another defender who can do that. I don't think this is one we can just sanction without a replacement, tbh.

Nelson

Based on what? He had a decent half season with Oxford. It is very different to playing in a team which should be competing at the top half of the Championship. With all due respect, he is a young lad with potential, but he's not at the same level yet. I don't think there is evidence, we've seen them both play. It is easy to hate on Wout but just because he's a bit of a twat doesn't mean he's not our best defender.

If you focus on his good attributes he can be quite superb in terms of reading the game, timing of interventions and bringing the ball out.

However, to me he is not a centre half as he has at least one big bomb scare a game, he often doesn't pick up the danger man allowing them to drift beyond him, his passing is often awful and his attitude to defending is laissez faire i.e if the ball goes in it goes in - Wes Morgan or Robert Huth he is not

Add a shite poor attitude, lack of self awareness, high opinion of self and lack of humility and he's an absolute get rid of at all cost.

Faes is a serious donkey, that used to be common knowledge amongst our fans. We have had him for 3 seasons now, we know what we're getting with him and it's not very good.

The more Faes plays this season the more the consensus will return to him not being good enough, it's just this 'clean sheet' nonsense where everyone decides to have selective amnesia about all the bad times we have had with our worst players.

If wout sets the standard for our defence

The standards needs to be raised 💯

It's not good enough to say he's our best defender,  he's still crap no matter how you dress the clown up

Surely we have seen plenty of Wout, and he's been utterly awful at the top level and decent enough - though by no means standout - at a lower level. That also goes for Vestergard. I'm not sure you can comfortably separate those two in terms of how well they've done for us, other than to say that Vestergard had very little to do with our last two relegations and Wout was one of our poorest performers.

Nelson, for his part, has also been very decent at a lower level, has thus far never been problematic in the way that Vestergard and Faes have, and while untested at a higher level, has reportedly attracted clubs who have considered the sorts of fees which nobody in a million years would contemplate for Faes. I mean, even if it's all untrue, the fact that news outlets can credibly speculate over 20m bids for Nelson, but would never dream about similar fees for Faes, tells you something in itself. Even Okoli, who looks like a complete dud to me, could attract way higher sums of money.

So I'm not sure how you reach that conclusion, unless you're purely looking at performances in the second tier for Leicester (ignoring, say, Nelson at Oxford) and ignoring what Vestergard has offered for us at this level and for others, in way more successful sides than Faes has ever represented, at a higher level.

Personally, I think we have very little to fear from letting him go, and everything to fear from his continuation.

Pretty much every manager we've had has played him over vestergaard in the premier League.

I'd rather others left before him tbh, though he obviously does have mistakes in him I think he's a better footballer than the others.

Rationale?

We all know how bad Wout Faes is. Championship or not he has no composure whatsoever and instead of owning his mistakes he blames everyone around them.

Fans value 'leadership' in centrebacks where they make the players around them better, Wout Faes makes everyone around him worse due to his erraticism and temperament yet for some reason you cant hold it against him. We need our defense to be a unit and you cant get that with Faes.
