I'm hoping that it was nothing more than agent talk and wild speculation based on nothing at all when Martin was the favourite for our vacancy. King Power need to thank the fan reaction when the fraud was linked if they really were to give him the job. It really is beyond the realm of reality that he was on any shortlist, if he ever was.

AEK won 2-1

Zorya lost 1-0 but still won group.

Slavia 0-0 then bottled at home.

Randers walloped 3-1.

Legia away abysmal performance but not counting them as minnows, Villa also got done there

We got battered in that Randers game. Made our win at Charlton look routine. Legia were bottom of the Polish league at the time of the result.

As if Martin at Rangers would be anything other than a disaster. His hair, his dietary requirements and his loan spell there, all set him up for failure before you even analyse him as a manager.

 

I have never known a man whose sides get routinely battered like him. Even when he got Southampton promoted, they lost 5-0 twice .

Scotland’s coefficient will be even worse  now after this and probably means Rangers and Celtic have to play a number of games to qualify now .

 

Maybe they will do ok in the Europa league ?

I have just read that Celtic haven't got through the CL qualifiers since 2017. Their main group appearances have all been resulting of automatic qualification.

Didn't play well at Roma but they were a good side. Most of the team made the Europa League final the year after.

They ironically benefitted from Rangers overperforming in Europe for a while.
