Be intrigued to see how Palace get on. And if they get Lausanne - could get interesting if they're drawn away there...

Alongside Fiorentina, Shakhtar, Mainz they could be favourites?

Palace get AZ Alkmaar, Dynamo Kyiv, Strasbourg, KUPS, Larnaca & Shelbourne

Aberdeen get Shakhtar, Sparta Prague, Strasbourg, AEK, Larnaca & Noah

Those draws are about as tough as Conference League draws get, although playing Strasbourg at home rather than away might be a bonus for Palace. Where do Dynamo Kyiv even play in Europe nowadays?

Poland I think.

Palace's draw is so bad. So many niche aways they could get and they're given half baked Kiev and Ireland.

They don't travel outside the M25 let alone the country, so can only imagine their ends will be underwhelming.

Me neither but the only solace is it kicks Forest in the bollocks

Now, for the final... Palace or Rayo Vallecano?

Neither team has won a European trophy so far.

I'd pip Rayo.

Just because Palace fans stole a Leicester flag once.

Meh, on this occasion it's an absolute piss-take that they've been forced into this competition - it should have been them getting spanked at Villa Park tonight, not Forest.

If the end result of those corrupt bastards worming their way into the Europa League is that Palace win the cup they should have been competing for while they get nothing, I'd take that.

I previously felt like this but not now, or in this case anyway.

I’d be happy for Palace to win as it would be justice for them being bumped down and a kick in the teeth for Forest. I’d be happy to see Villa get pumped by Freiburg in their final as they gifted those points to Spurs last week!

In terms of how it stacks up with our achievements, nobody else has come close to the league title but Newcastle and Villa swiftly qualified for the CL after we failed, West Ham the Conference league after after we failed and Palace already won the FA cup (obviously the only thing we did fail on).

At this point, the club and the loyalists have been dining out on finishing 5th and the Conference League semi final as though they are achievements like the league and cup. The more clubs like West Ham and Palace winning the FA cup/conference league, or Villa if they do win the Europa League (as well as having finish top 4 as with Newcastle), it further shows that the European runs of ours and the 5th place finishes were in fact failures and it is not ‘entitled’ to say that when any other English club put in these positions seems to out do us!
