A reminder that, despite the gloomy state of our transfer window, this league really isn't anything to fear.

A decent striker in and I don't see any issue with us achieving play offs.  If by some miracle we get a couple of others, even if loans then we'll be cooking.

It's a tragedy we gave Cooper so much money to spvnk and it looks like there's nothing for Marti.

I'll always say that Cooper was a worse appointment than RVN. Van Nistelrooy had absolutely no tactical nous, but he also had a January transfer budget of £1.32 because of the millions wasted by Cooper on absolute pony.

Imagine if we'd had a proper boss this time last year.

First time watching us this season and I suppose at least my incredibly low expectations were surpassed and there seemed to be effort from the players.

Christ though I don't regret ditching my season ticket. The way modern football is played is so f**king boring. It's like a logical computer program tells the teams how to play. Just keep the ball at all costs, if in doubt turn around and start again. Nearly every team does it as well. It's such an unenjoyable slog to watch.

This is a league with meager quality, tedious to watch, occasionally entertaining.  It’s been many years since a Leicester team fit it so well.

If Cifuentes has this group on board and working for it after just a few games, he’s more or less what we need.

9 points from 4.  Onward and upward … like a lorry grinding up a steep hill.

It's the same steep hill as the other 23 Championship teams. Expect a bit of global warming from the belching clouds of black smoke from the exhausts of the leading contenders!

Personally disagree. We haven’t played anyone who I’d consider be in top six yet. The test comes with Cov and West Brom

Fair enough, I may well be proven to be wrong.

Many people were saying we'd lose last night handsomely. There is far too much fluffing of this league which, broadly, just isn't very good. Or at least is a huge step down in quality. I enjoy it by the way, it feels like honest football but the quality...not so much for me.

Had exactly the same last time we were down.  I accept we are in a worse position than after our last relegation but provided Marti keeps doing the business I think we'll be fine.  We do need a striker.  We look far more effective with Daka on but his confidence looks shot and Ayew, just no as a number 9.

That's what it means to a player who cares.

Then, to the contrary, you've got BEK sat in the stands on his phone (still whilst being paid to represent this football club) doing everything possible to escape our club.

But let's not believe the multiple 'rumours' hey @hackneyfox - Perhaps they're all wrong and he is committed to Leicester City.

Thankfully the majority of us arent as naive.

:dunno:

There has been a certain resilience over the last two games which has been absent for the last 12 months, so that's super nice to see.

I'd say we are 2 or 3 signings away from a team capable of challenging right at the top.

Grit and determination are needed for sure, but it only gets you so far, still need an extra little bit of quality.

Personally disagree. Think those last night are going to end up being in the top 6 and they were distinctly average bordering on poor.

Amazing how a little bit of fight and a bit of passion in a performance can lift your whole mood with the club and football as a whole. Woke up this morning feeling really positive and I think it’s probably the first time in a couple of years.

Lots to improve on obviously but a real feel good feeling from a bit of grit and determination showed by the players.

I was really pleased with everyone last night. It really felt like they were all up.for it and I don't remember at any point thinking the effort was lacking from any of them.

Even Daka when he came on (who can frustrate me) did what was needed and harassed the brum defence as they were pushing to equalise.

I just hope this is the type.of team we have this season, an emphasis on youth and everyone working 120% throughout.

Really positive result and performance with lots of room to.i.provw especially with the youth players we have. 😊

Wasn’t a classic by any stretch of the imagination but so many good points to take from it.

It must be the first time in 5 years I’m no longer hiding behind the sofa/my seat when there is a corner against us. A keeper who comes out and more often than not kills it and defenders, defending. Two games where we havent been great but defended - you can see a difference from the first game, from the game last week to yesterday.

Players getting tackles in. Blocks. Did Patson block one with his head ??!?

Making us hard to score against us and then build from there. Strike/midfield needs work but genuinely think we see a full flow Marti team end of Oct/early November - for now, keep grinding out the results as we have been doing.

He’s also not had an easy start. Taking over a club destroyed by the worst manager in our history in RVN. Who couldnt coach, man manage or organise. Quite clearly alienated multiple players. He’s having to rebuild that culture. We all know the people in the exec seats offer little help. But he’s dealing with it well.

Starting Page in the 10 takes guts. Making subs - which so far he’s done consistently, takes guts. Benching Winks and Faes takes guts. Removing Bilal completely takes guts. So far so good. He’s a gutsy manager. I also think with King there and his assistant we have a decent back room.

6/9 points the anticipated points deduction maybe - we’ve cleared that - now the season starts. Oxford away, before the derby with Cov - win that and the KP slowly starts becoming a fortress again.

We have match winners in guys like Abdul and they’ll be key while we find our rhythm. Big win this.

Said it earlier in the week, the success of our entire season will come down to if he can stay injury free or not.

We get promoted if he stay fit

Mid table if he misses more than 10 games

He’s just that good at this level, and the team responds to him being on the pitch

(awful tackle though lol)

A wins a win, but we need to step it up, stop other teams trying to take the p*SS out of us and kill games off quicker.

On paper we have the best players in the league we need to start showing team we mean business, we have to bear in mind we could have a points deduction, so we need to rack up as many as we can, so it we can't get automatic promotion we have the play off route.

Skipp, Choudhary and Thomas are not technical enough to play in Marti's ideal side.

We need Winks and Ricardo to start from now on, players that are actually comfortable receiving the ball and progressing it while retaining possession.

Skipp, Hamza and Thomas are fine bench players but we can't be starting with players that can't play the Leicester City way.

Hes building something thats for sure. Was a stressful watch until the second goal, but we were excellent out of possession. Still lacking creativity and threat, but an accomplished win against a solid side full of confidence

I thought they were anything but solid and confident.

Birmingham in their previous games hasnt shown really any redeeming features to suggest they are going to be up there bar thirty minutes on opening day. A Blues fan I worked with said he had really concerns over their lack of physicality and two centre backs which are rigid.

By comparison, Coventry are scoring for fun and West Brom are a bit like us in being difficult. Stoke are bobbing along nicely. Then youve got Ipswich and Saints who will get better when their new players settle down. Millwall are decent and make really under the radar signings. Sheffield United still have the recipe to be successful.
