fkas Posted 3 September 2025 Posted 3 September 2025 See where we are in Jan. I think we did fairly well at moving on some of the players that wanted to go. Faes and Daka would be ideal candidates to find new challenges but the rest of the squad I'd largely keep as is. January is a tough month to do business unless we have a desperate need then I'd focus on keeping our best talents and then looking at getting things agreed with players who will be out of contract in the summer.
Ian Nacho Posted 3 September 2025 Posted 3 September 2025 Can't remember a January where we've had any notable business. Doubt it will be any different this time around. 1

LCFCJohn Posted 9 September 2025 Posted 9 September 2025 It will be interesting to see how the new signings get on and as far as incomings are concerned, it will depend on this and where we are in the table. Outgoings wise, I think just continue to try and shift some that contracts are close to being up and avoid losing for free, whilst ensuring we have enough depth. Sell Daka - if Carranza settles, try and shift. Look to bring someone in based on where we are and whether we look like going up. Winks/Soumare - one would be a result. If we could shift both I would be we would need a further addition if so. Kristiansen - obviously not in his last year but still sell. Nelson - Souttar will be back by then as well. A bit of pure profit as well. In Probably same story as the summer, centre midfield and striker but targets would depend on who we sell and what our ambitions are at that point.

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 9 September 2025 Posted 9 September 2025 Don't get too excited I can't see us signing anyone in the next window. 1
The boy Linacre Posted 9 September 2025 Posted 9 September 2025 Do we really know yet?? Perhaps give it Sept & half of Oct?? The new signings might make a real difference, in the end with the general crap in the team we are still on 9pts with 3 wins in 4th place. Carranza might be a proper striker, certainly he must know where the net in comparison to Patson, and tired of Ayew even at this level playing with his back to goal all the time, and generally not getting anywhere near the goal,. And the other two will add desire and energy. 1

Or surely it makes better sense to use him and give him a new contract and get rid of one of the other centre backs who we know are useless in the Prem? 1

I want us to. The thing I was most looking forward to this season was Nelson at the heart of the defence. But clearly he is not fancied, our fans would seemingly rather see Vestergaard and Faes play. What reason does he have to sign a new contract? Would you if you were him? And on that basis, we either piss around keeping him on the bench until his contract runs out or make some money from him. I agree with your post being the ideal and I agree. But from his point of view, when most of the fans don’t seemingly even want you to be given a chance, it’s time to move on and be loved elsewhere. It’s what I’d do if I was him. And if I was his agent I’d be refusing to sign a new deal. Fan of the club or not. 1

Jabfox Posted 10 September 2025 Posted 10 September 2025 Think we should keep Thierry Small from PNE on our radar, looks like he's got a good future. 2

Verumex Posted 10 September 2025 Posted 10 September 2025 Who do we need, or who should we target, because they're two different questions. We need strikers through the door, but target them in January and we will get absolutely fleeced. The only movement that should happen in January is trying to move on the deadwood and fill any holes that become apparent over the next few months.

Spanner73 Posted 10 September 2025 Posted 10 September 2025 An owner that cares about the club ? instead of the dross we’ve got
Molson Canadian Posted 10 September 2025 Posted 10 September 2025 Try for Dan Neil from Sunderland? Contract expires 2026. Has not played a premier league game for them this season. If he's not going to re-sign they might let him go cheaper in January just to get a sale. Tommy Doyle? Playing for Birmingham on loan this season, contract is up at the end of the season. Unsure of the loan terms, but if we can buy him from Wolves in January and cancel his loan. Winks contract ends this season bring him as replacement?
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 11 September 2025 Posted 11 September 2025 With Souttar back by then we can let Faes go. The rest will depend on how it goes between now and then. We have one loan spot left so would see us using that if we get a long term injury or have a position we are desperate to strengthen. Can see us selling any of those out of contract at end of the season on the cheap if we can bring in a replacement
SystonFox Posted 11 September 2025 Posted 11 September 2025 I dont think Harry Souttar plays for this club again imho
