James isn’t a 10 really.

Soumare is missing in this game.

We shouldn't be scared to go more direct and try and play over the press. We really struggle with a high press, and I can't help but feel we're playing into Cov's hands a bit here.

I thought Marti’s tactics include pressing high and the winning the ball back.. no?

Hard to high press when all of their outfield players are inside our third of the pitch

need to go direct but Ayew is playing like a CDM

Mavididi is really struggling to get into this again.

This hasn’t been a great half.

We really struggle when we are pressed.

We just can’t dominate a game.

They are causing their own problems by trying to play slowly against a good press.  Everyone stops moving into space once the chuckle brothers slip into to me to you mode.

This is challenging. Second best - and by a lot. Soooo slow on the ball. Invites a high press. Ayew is our best outlet, but his lack of mobility is such an issue for is getting up the pitch.

Daka pushes pushes us up the pitch more

With Ayew there is no outlet ball. No physicality and no pace.

I still maintain that the team would play better, as a whole, with Daka at no. 9. Hopefully Carranza will come good.

Yea Hamza for Soumare, Ayew for Daka, Kristensen for Thomas, Monga for Mav

Strange that Winks is playing deeper than Soumare, feel like their strengths would be the other way around.

Also, Lampard always looks like he's caught a whiff of something unpleasant.

He’d be better behind Daka in my opinion.

The problem for me is that when Ayew drops deep we have no outlet so their back line can push basically to half way line and pen us in. We can't play out from the back

If you want Ayew to start you play him as the 10 where he can drop deep and hold the ball up. You then need a Striker such as Daka who wants to run in behind forcing there defence to start to drop off and we get more space and allowed to play out from back and dictate the game.

The problem for me is we need a striker who wants to stretch the play
