We are a team that needs to score first, haven’t conceded a goal this season so far when we’ve been in front.

I would go front foot and attacking with some more defensive options on the bench.

Stolarcyzk

Choudhury

Faes

Vestergaard

Kristensen

Winks (6)

Ricardo (8)

James (8)

Fatawu

Daka

Mavididi

Subs: GK, Thomas, Nelson, Soumare, Page, Monga, BDCR, Ayew, Carranza

Choudhur into the pivot in possession pushing the 8’s high. VK to get forward from LB. An actual 9 staying up top.

Get some academy lads back on the bench too.

If that teamsheet has Ayew and/or Soumare starting then it’s time to start questioning Marti.

Would get in there early then, because i think there is no way Daka starts and Caranza isn't ready yet. With Ramsey still out i cant see Soumare being benched.

JJ alongside Winks.

Ayew 10.

Start Daka or Carranza.

Our attack can’t really get any worse, our breaks come to a halt with Ayew and he makes no runs beyond the defenders.

I can’t get with the thinking that this is a must win game.

Season over if we don't win this one for definite.

I think with only 38 games left afterwards we'll be mathematically relegated.

**** this club.

In all seriousness it's just trite, clichéd nonsense that actually means nothing.

It’s clearly not a must win from a points perspective. But think it’s a very important one for the manager and overall belief of the club. He’s talked a good game so far, delivered a promising start with some question marks. Now’s the time I think we’d all like to see it start to come together, him included I’m sure!

Correct me if im wrong, but playing Ayew as the 10 still means you want to start questioning Marti?

Marti has made some good calls so far and started to fix the right things. I appreciate that there is uncertainty around certain players and their futures, but to get out of this division you really have to manage in the short term.

1. Transitioning Winks back into the team after the transfer window closed was the correct thing to do

2. Bringing Ricardo in once fit was the right call

3. I think he’s managed Monga well

4. The balance in midfield is getting there by bringing James in

But…..

I was so disappointed to see Ayew starting again as the number 9 against WBA although, to some extent, I have sympathy when the other options are so limited.

This, however, is now Marti’s biggest test:

5. Drop Ayew and get more out of someone else (Carranza or Daka) and/or

6. Change the shape of the team to get more goals from the wingers and midfield

Solving the above feels like a bit of a crossroads for MC and how fans will assess his progress to date

I just want to see more from us, I'm not overly worried if it's not a win.

Our tempo needs raising and we need to move the ball quicker.

I'd also love to see Fatawu drifting more central at times throughout the game, rather than hugging the touchline the whole time.

Apologies I should’ve clarified.

Ayew shouldn’t be playing up front.

Soon as Ramsay is back Ayew should be benched.

Personally i would put Page back there. At least he has a bit of pace about him.

And can we please stop getting Ayew to take set pieces as well.

I would go with this, maybe have Monga on and Mavadidi up front.  Last season VK would try and support Mavadidi but he would ignore him, try him with Monga. Thomas has proven to be useless in a support roll.

JV has to stop slowing everything down and creating the press and problems at the back.

The senior prem experienced players have proven to be donkeys, hopefully the manager has finally realised Ayew is a massive problem, but I doubt it.

I like Page as he has energy and the arrogance of youth wants to play football as opposed to Ayew who is useless and actively harming the team. A constant reminder of the poor decision by a terrible manager, who left very rich.

0.-1. Coady to score 90+6, knee slide in front of the away fans and does his ACL.

Correct me if im wrong but they've completely dropped Coady now havent they?

Should've beat Coventry, but we were pretty inept in front of goal.

Should've beat WBA, but we spent 80 minutes on top without really testing their keeper.

If - big if - we can sort out our attack,  we'll have too much for Wrexham. Ayew needs dropping and we need to try something different up front. No idea what that is, maybe Carranza is ready to start and Ayew can be an impact sub (which he was actually OK at last year). Daka, even, if JJ is up to speed and we start creating actual chances that suit him. I'd even be half-tempted to play Mavididi in the more central role, with a Monga/Mavididi/Fatawu switching up a bit during the match.

Stolarczyk

Ricardo - Okoli - Vestergaard - Thomas

Winks - JJ

Fatawu - Mavididi - Monga

Carranza

Subs: Begovic, Choudhury, Faes, Aluko, Soumare, Page, Daka, BDCR, Ayew

As long as Ayew isn't the main striker, I think I'd be happy with most other realistic lineups from Marti. Even if Ayew starts in the 10 role, that's an improvement on where we've been. Especially as Ramsey is due back from the next game so presumably will take that spot again.
