But Jon Rufkin is given a free pass by way too much of our fan base - even on here - because many see him as "one of our own".

Find me 1 fan on this forum that doesn't see Jon Rudkin for exactly what he is.

All very well building a scaffold for this "manager".

But he, like Cooper and RVN before him, are symptoms of the club's malaise rather than the cause.

Until and unless our absentee owner has the sense to realise he and the club are being bled dry by a parasitical, inadequate "director of football", our decline will continue.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused here, could you explain this comment especially the bits I  the "  ".

Marti needs to be dragged over some hot coals. WTF is he doing in these games.

this bad consistency pattern whatever you wanna call it keeps happening over and over and over again and he’s not fixing it!

it’s his job and he’s not doing it.

time to read the riot act to him before this team loses all remaining hope and confidence. 😡

Half time entertainment suggestion?

We get dragged toward relegation he will be sacked of course, but we always do enough to prevent it from becoming a crisis.

i think we’ve been in crisis mode for 5 years and counting 😆

Every chance that Liverpool and Tottenham sack their managers later today or tomorrow maybe just maybe we take the opportunity to sack Marti and for it to be pretty much under the radar and go largely unnoticed which would suit our decision makers.

Even though we are 13th we are only 10 points off 3rd. A run of form could be the difference between a possibility of promotion or staying in the championship which has serious financial implications, I actually don't see how we can afford to keep him. Overall I don't see any point to sticking with the Marti Cifuentes project. This team has gone backward in almost all areas under his watch. But we're in such a strange position, in the middle of a transfer window, middle of appointing a new technical director sadly I don't see us getting rid of him.

Listen, I know i'm gonna get pelters, but first half we looked superb, but we have 3 senior citizens in the side, and Luke Thomas. JJ is also such a legend, he doesnt know how to pace himself and burns out before the 90. Marti is no Pep, but we're not Man City. I don't think I'm ready for Marti out

This isn’t L1. Nobody on here gives this dude a free pass.

Nothing will change with him in charge.

He isn't the best manager, but nothing will change with any manager, we are way short of a squad capable of competing for top 6

We’ll lose on Tuesday, and then fluke a 1-0 win against Oxford. Meaning he keeps his job

How much more do you need to see before you make him fully accountable for picking those ‘3 senior citizens’ & Luke Thomas? Marti just cannot stop us trotting out the same inconsistent performances and constant defensive and physical/mental weaknesses. Get him gone. He’s not the only problem but he’s singularly responsible for not getting a tune out of this squad.

Mate, those senior citizens were dynamite in the first half, what let him down was he didn't have the confidence in the replacements. He takes off Ayew and has to bring on Daka, who is absolutely useless. Monga for Stephy isnt working, he isn't ready, if anyone should have been dragged up top it should have been abdul. Yes I know, lets play Aluko, Evans and Page, but Marti see's these players in training, perhaps its the case that he needs more players to beat top of the league away from home?

This is drivel.

Another manager may come up with more than just the exact same team and exact same tactics ( that don't work ) every week.

Another manager may look at the running stats..

Another manager could drop Thomas from the entire 25 man squad

It's a moot point, as there is no way he's being sacked. The club are in a financial position that they need to save a grand or two on pies for the stewarding staff. The manager could take a slash on the Vichai statue after an 8-0 drubbing and he still wouldn't be sacked.

Perhaps Thomas is the best we've got, perhaps the distance covered stats and sprint stats are low because we're playing with those senior citizens, and maybe those are OAPs are the best we've got. The game could have been wrapped up in the first half.

How many good 90 mins has he strung together?

We need signings, we need ramsey to be fit, we need a striker, we need a LB, and i think we might need a keeper

And most importantly a manager that can actually structure and organise a team.

United beat City today why? Because they got rid of a failing manager and brought in someone to just bring the basics back.

I don’t think it’s fitness because when we had a bad first half at home to Sheff Utd we showed we can play well in the second half. When we are winning at half time he brings everybody back more defensively and just tries to hold on - even at 3-0 up at Derby it was getting nervy by the end. Yet when asked, he says he tells them to go for more goals, I just don’t believe it.
