We are definitely winning this one, by the way.

I missed the Swansea game and I'm busy next Saturday so will miss this one.

Lump on City  - 3-1.

:scarf:

Literally have to win it.

They (Blackburn) have seemed even worse themselves recently.

Can't see a loss here, too, but lose this and protests etc should really be ramped up.

Close to what I’d do

Ayew and Evans out, Ricky and Aluko in.

Put Abdul up top, and he’ll drift wide. Worked well when we were down to 10 men against Oxford

Aluko

Ricky

Winks

Kristensen

James

Fatawu

Carranza

Either that or Aluko out, Page into midfield

Get the losers out who dont care about us.

That's more like it 👏. Not sure about Skipp, but at least you're on the right lines. Everyone slates the team on the post match thread, then suggests broadly the same team for the next match. We need some fresh faces; shake things up.

For gods sake give Nelson 1 league start, Marti must hate him, he is the one kid with decent Champs experience

Allied to which Abdul’s decision making this season has been shocking, he is WELL off it.

In the end they look a state AND to make it worse, won’t put a shift and most of them are being bullied in this division

Lose this and we are properly in a relegation battle.

With a defence that is continually gifting the opposition goals plus we have no reliable goal scorer we are already in a relegation battle - before we even add in an inevitable points deduction!

My team would be:

Shilton

Rodrigues

Nish

Roberts

Sjoberg

Cross

Fern

Clarke

Lochhead

Gibson

Glover

If any of them have sadly passed away - they would still be better than the current lot.

So you would persist with Thomas, Ayew, Daka, Carranza, Faes, Okoli etc ahead of the academy players because we dont want to put to much pressure on the first team.

to the side.

We need to rebuild the squad this season, it's not about results, a lot of players have simply overstayed their welcome.

I agree.

We need to integrated more youth to the starting line up over the weeks to replace the underperforming Ayew's Thomas's etc. Not a wholesale swap of 5 or 6 next match, but a graduale integration.   Aluko for Thomas, Nelson actually given a chance for one of our CB's, done over the next few matches.

Marti must see who I underperforming and who's making mistakes, we do.

So grow some balls, earn your manager wages and make some tough decisions and at least give it a try.  And if it upsets one or two of of the Prema Donna's on 70K a week that he's ost his place to a 18 year old... "arr diddums"  get over it and play better then.

Even with how bad we are, and how negative I am about it all, we surely can’t lose this. Blackburn are shocking. We can’t afford to lose this either.

Shocking, really? A Blackburn fan told me last week they were playing better than the results are suggesting

Beat Southampton & Ipswich (if the rain hadn't came) - why not the hat trick of relegated clubs

Won 2 out of their last 8 (3 if you count Ipswich) - better form than us

So we need to see changes so here is the team Marti won't pick:

Jacob

Ricci

Okoli

Nelson

Aluko

James

Winks

Fatawu

Page

Mavididi

Carrenza

Reasoning:

Jacob - Had a decent game against Millwall

Ricci - Only RB in the squad and one of our best players and still puts in a shift every time

Okoli/Nelson arguably weaker with the ball at their feet than Vesty/Faes- but here is an old fashioned idea, trying out defenders who defend and dropping CBs how cost us goals - the 4 centre backs should be rotated based on form

Aluko in at LB - Well Thomas and VK haven't offered anything

James/Winks - 2 DCMs who have talent and should control matches at this level (and the alternative is Skipp/Soumare and I hear this midfield partnership is up for 2025 horror film awards)

Fatawu - Our best player and match winner on his day

Page - Ramsey will be injured, Reid has 1 good game in 2 season and Page was OK when called on earlier in the season

Mavididi - Harsh on Monga, but with giving Page a chance I think having our creative front 3 relying on 2 teenagers maybe a bit too much

Carrenza - I honestly don't like what I have seen so far, but we have given Daka and Ayew enough starts - why not change things.

Sub bench will include Ayew who I think has been better of the bench this season, Monga who coming on against tired defenders will have more luck and we can even include Thomas, VK, Faes & Vesty you know in case our defence does worse than they usually do

@RedSoxUK asked me to go to this and I said I'm seeing my Grandad that day.

He died 7 years ago.

All Saints Day - in many Catholic countries a time to visit graves of loved ones.  So your visit fits.

You are spot on about players overstaying their welcome, but Monga and Silko are way off being any better right now.

Monga has been better than Ayew and Mavididi so not sure how you can say he is way off being better. He has been our best choice at left wing this season.

Even if he wasnt better he is 16, they are 34 and 27. He is allowed to perform at this level because this is just one step for him on the path to improvement, the alternatives to him arent going to get better, therefore their performances are more unacceptable e even if they perform to the same level.

Even if he changes the personal he won’t change his tactics and develop any footballing nous.

Marti is the managerial equivalent of Thomas, Soumare and Skipp.

I see your point.

He seems to be suffering from what quite a few modern day managers are at the moment.  The inability to learn from mistakes  and that they are all stubbonly wedded to a philosophy or style of play and won't entertain the thought of deviating from it.

But I'd settle for the personal change for a start.   No Wout Garfunkel brain farts, Thomas being bullied, light Jogging sessions from Soumare and Ayew devising more creative ways of falling over, killing any attacking intent in the pursuit of a free kick. It can't do any harm.
