Is Pearson a realistic option? From a coaching perspective, sure, with King there already. But Whelan is gone (we know how he feels about that) and Vichai and Shakespeare have passed away since then. Walsh is settled in the US and Pearson's own health is not the best.

It's another long-term rebuild project like when he took us on first time, but Top isn't giving anyone time if he thinks we should get promoted next season (unless he means from League One...).

So as much as I wouldn't mind giving the reins to a tried and trusted manager like NP, I just don't see it happening.

No.

He's quite ill, he strongly dislikes Jon Rudkin and I really don't think he'd do a third stint.

I also don't think he'd be a good interim coach anyway and he definitely isn't a long term option. Pearson's biggest strength was culling the kind of squad we have now, not working with it.

He did a great job in difficult circumstances at Bristol City, which is a similar job we're faced with now realistically.

But I think you're right that there are too many factors at play here which will mean he's either not going to be considered or he won't do it.

A part of me hopes that King could make use of Pearson in some capacity though.

Rudkin would get confused and hire Svensson instead.

Rudkin would get confused by the hair and hire Robbie Savage instead.

If it’s not proposed by a certain set of agents it won’t happen.

Will Still has the same agent as Cifuentes and was sacked by Southampton making him an absolute double whammy.

They also represent a former manager of ours everyone is keen to have back...

Same agent as Okoli and who Steve Cooper was under when we appointed him

Struber at Bristol would be my long term choice, like the cut of his jib and is actually dynamic, can’t see us going for compo though unless it’s next season . If we go the interim route then Rowett without doubt the best option

Seeing as iit is Australia Day here I say give it to Kevin Muscat he would at the very least get these personalities back in line or out the door.

Where has Pearson said he really dislikes Rudkin? I have missed that. I mean i am not surprised just interested to read it myself?

Just get a manager who can actually manage this lot! We have had 3 managers on the trott who were just yes men.........Time we(or Rudkin) showed some balls and know this is not working, but they won't because it's their cushy jobs on the line.........how i'd love a Roy Keane to come in!

Think people are going to be in for a sobering reality when the list of those genuinely interested in joining comes to light.

I have no problem with Rowett whatsoever.

He’s no Pearson but he’s certainly cut from the same cloth and should sort our defence out.

Agree, has some history with us, also knows how to get a team defending, feel this is key for us, to many times our back four has crumbled to easily.

I remember when NP arrived, the first thing he did was make us difficult to beat.

I don't want sexy spainish football, I want us to be organised and hard to beat.

We need Championship experience and someone who can get us defending, Rowatt for me, also knows the club.

Genuinely think there’s only 2 names on the entire list that might do a decent job. Everyone else would struggle and the 2 that I think would do alright, may well also struggle.
