I really hope the rumour of Will Still is completely false!!! Did absolutely nothing for Southampton!!

just people speculating. We don't go for managers who aren't either big names or recently in the division, so the short list will likely feature Russell Martin, Will Still, Gerrard. if it weren't for the Plymouth job, I think we'd potentially be stupid enough to sound out Rooney

Let be honest if Pearson is well, it would be an open goal for the club to bring him in until the end of the season.

Has experience of sorting out a trouble squad, knows the championship, knows the owner, understands the fans.

Would get the fan base back on side.

Also working with king who he knows really well.

I highly doubt Ange is on the shortlist.

It'll be a list of out of work managers with a decent amount of EFL experience who are thoroughly underwhelming. There'll be no creative names, no flashy names, no hipster names, no Premier League names. It'll be dull AF.

I also think Ange would probably consider us too far to drop even despite his recent wobbles.

I'd take him, though. Spurs being a step too far for him isn't really saying much, doesn't make him an awful coach and frankly he was always doomed at Forest. He was a ridiculous hire straight off the back of Nuno and he never stood a chance.

He could win league one with us in his 2nd season, he always wins something in his 2nd season so makes sense.

Anyone got tracking on Top’s plane? Heard one registered in Thailand is leaving East Mids as we speak.

Hopefully Rudkin is in the hold with a blindfold and his arms and legs tied together

Agreed, be good to get a second League One title under our belt.

Just trying to go down the candidates list on the betting and trying to apply to sense and logic to it...

Unlikely/no chance/unrealistic:

Ralph Hassenhutl, Steven Gerrard, Patrick Vieira, Bruno Lage, Gareth Southgate, Jon Dahl Thomasson, Ange Postecoglou, Marco Rose, Vitor Pereira, Erik Ten Hag

Has a job, we're not paying compensation:

Gary O'Neil, Lee Carsley, Robbie Keane, Michael Skubala, Jesse Marsch, David Wagner, Paul Heckingbottom, Gio Van Bronckhorst, Alex Revell, Alex Neil, Dean Smith, Chris Wilder, Graham Alexander, Brian Barry-Murphy, Carlos Corberan, Kevin Muscat, Paddy McCarthy, Richie Wellens, Dave Challinor, Chris Davies, Kjetil Knutsen, Craig Bellamy

Too young or inexperienced, Based on reports we want experience:

Michael Beale, Will Still, Damien Duff, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Mason, Alan Sheehan, Robbie Savage, John O'Shea

Realistic, would probably come, and experienced:

Russell Martin, Tony Mowbray Gary Rowett, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Nigel Pearson (can't bring myself to put him in unlikely), Steve Bruce, Neil Critchley, Tony Pulis, Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink, Slaven Bilic

That last category makes grim reading apart from a few.

Who ever it is i really hope they bring some fire, drive and hunger back to this club. Be able to work with what little we have and bring some identity back to the club. I dont even care if we win, lose are draw games as long as they is some fight in each and everyone of them. We have become so scared of other teams the min we're losing we run and hide instead of being the hunters who fight for every ball, every tackle and every point. At least I can say to myself we never quit and we are truly fearless.

Would it work with Nige and no Shakespeare? Felt like Nige struggled without him in his post-Leicester career.

I would prefer Nige to come in as a DoF type figure. Someone that knows how to rebuild the culture of a club properly.

This squad would throw Nige under the bus without a seconds thought.

Hopefully if he is, it’s not because he’s asked for Top to do it to him.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank is a horrendous shout, can we hide this so they don’t get ideas.

I’d put Hassenhutl in the realistic list.

Did a good job overall at sorting out Bristol City without Shakey

Exactly the kind of thing we need him to do with us
