Popular Post Katy Posted 26 January Popular Post Posted 26 January I think people need to get real about where we actually are right now. We’re tarnished goods, we can no longer afford and thusly attract top quality managers anymore. That’s down to the deluded little fella in ‘charge’, who probably still thinks we can get Pep in on the cheap. 12
LCFCCHRIS Posted 26 January Posted 26 January (edited) I can’t get behind any of these names. We need a manager to completely get the fans on board and fired up!!!! I think Nigel is the best option here, on a deal til the end of the season with kingy as #2. Make reasonable adjustments for his potential health issues. Why? 1) The fans would be behind him 10000% 2) Plenty of experience 3) Wouldn’t take shit from the players 4)Short term so low risk gerrminin Edited 26 January by LCFCCHRIS 3

They're trying to gaslight us into accepting Rowett like Aiyawatt gaslights the fanbase into accepting our downfall. The fanbase of this club truly are the reason for our downfall, no pushback for constant poor decision making. 3

BrilliantFox Posted 26 January Posted 26 January (edited) We've just disposed of an awful manager from a little club that couldn't handle the pressure here and now you want to appoint another awful manager from a little club. Can't wait for Rowett to say "The expectations are too much here, it wasn't like this at my previous clubs" Edited 26 January by BrilliantFox 1

GrobyLCFC31 Posted 26 January Posted 26 January (edited) Rowett’s getting a lot of ‘he got sacked by Oxford’ shouts as to why people don’t want him which I completely get from looking at the outer picture. It’s worth noting that he got sacked in his second season there. In his first season he came in midway through the season replacing Des Buckingham and here’s his record from 20th Dec until the end of last season Games: 25 9 wins 8 draws 8 losses Other noticeable stat: 9 clean sheets There’s obviously the reality that he had L1 players with a point to prove instead of our prima-donna’s but if he gets into them and manages to make us harder to beat ( not difficult from where we’re at currently) then short term he could be an option! CWC1983 Posted 26 January Posted 26 January Rowett was the reason I gave up going to Pride Park when I lived in Derby. With the players he had at his disposal he turned them into a terrible team to watch. 1 1

Plenty of good managers got fired by small outfits. Eddie Howe at Burnley, Marco Silva at Hull, Claudio Ranieri at Greece... I live in Oxford now and know loads of Oxford United fans who really rate Rowett as a solid manager. Kept them up against all odds last year and kept them out the relegation zone all this season. They say he got fired for off pitch reasons - not much of a yes man, fell out with the owners who have this odd belief they should be a "top 30" club. Top half of the Championship and flirting with promotion. Most managers would fail with that objective! I think there are better candidates out there but also seems like Rowett has a lot of what we need.
moore_94 Posted 26 January Posted 26 January Rowett will get a contract until 2028 and in the summer we will end up with more Cooper-esque "experienced" signings 1 1
