Top never has had an plan b, as mentioned before if he's wanted a certain manager and can't get him he panic hires. We go back to when Rodgers was sacked, he seemed to convinced they were going to get Jesse Marsh then that didn't panicked ended up with Dean Smith, Potter turned us down ended up with Cooper, when Cooper flopped again he hadn't got a clue who to go for and ended up with Ruud. This summer same again they wanted Russell Martin ended up with Marti instead.

Absolutely - although I believe Cooper being sacked for RVN was the only time we fired somebody BECAUSE we had a plan b. It just so happened that plan b was shit.

Be interesting to know if Enzo wasn't appointed if that squad would have even got promoted.

I think there are other Managers that could have got that squad promoted, but I don’t trust Top would have appointed them. Feels like he lucked out with Enzo, and partly because Enzo took control of the whole situation.

Reference back to their satanic manager bounce coupled with Ruud's complete inexperience of managing.

Not saying our squad was better, simply saying had we brought in a better manager we would have stayed up.

We were 16th around Christmas, we already had a gap between us and them.

That was the chance to climb up.

I don’t know if that would’ve been the case even with an experienced manager. Yes we were 16th but struggling to stay in games. Points gained were very much a case of luck and backs to the wall defending. Bournemouth at home. Spurs draw. Even the Saints 3-2 - we were out played for large parts of the game.

Add to that Fatawu’s injury. Vestegaard and Faes starting as our centre back pairing, there wasn’t enough quality there to have a genuine chance to stay up. The damage was done in the summer before and even an experienced guy would’ve struggled to keep us up.

it would’ve evened out at some point that season.

Enzo leaving and bad recruitment absolutely killed our chances. I don’t see a scenario where we avoid the drop that season.

Lufleztie Ciltr is lovely with a bit of crusty bread on the side at this time of year.

It means little, but I see Russell Martin odds have shortened to now be joint favourite.

This will prompt a similar response from me to when we signed Ayew.

He's still 4/1, which means nobody has a scooby. Any narrowing of the odds was probably just down to one punter having a speculative nibble.

It has shifted today but minimal, think he was 6/1 yesterday. 5/2 with some places. But means nothing.

Preki was 1-12 at one point.

Martin wouldn't surprise me, but nothing would with these guys.

Rowetts odds have also shortened so, it means nothing and no one know anything. I suspect even the people making the decision.

I wonder if Martin and Rowett have both been interviewed and it has led to a couple of punters placing a bet hence the movement

One rumour I read somewhere yesterday was that Martin has been telling people in Brighton (where he now resides again) that we offered him the gig until the end of the season but he turned us down. Supposedly he said that he would have accepted an 18-month contract, but we wouldn't commit to that.

Now I'm hoping very much we didn't offer him any kind of work, but if this rumour is doing the rounds it may explain the slight narrowing in his odds.

Not sure why it's taking so long, but reading the Man City forum prior to Mukasa signing, some of their lot seemed convinced that they wouldn't have loaned him to us without assurances over how he'd be utilised, so you'd have thought the board had a couple of names that were presumably shared with Man City for them to sign off on the deal.

It's just a complete joke as per usual with the clowns running the show, Kingy shouldn't be in charge, he's out of his depth.

You'd think they'd have learned from the premier season where the club used two backroom staff as manager and assistant when was potential two games we could have won if got Dean Smith in straight away and we could still be playing premier league football instead of heading towards league one

Players have too much power as they get paid more than their manager. How many other jobs does that happen.

Gerrard would be a disaster right now. Wrong time for him to come in.

We need someone who can organise a defence and make us hard to beat.

Bet Gerrard could do that.
