Oh there's a decent proportion of blame going his way, I mean even by your simple logic he is partly responsible for just deciding which 11 players were on the pitch at any point during that game and which ones capitulated.

But there's loads of things he did wrong beyond that, the ethos was to defend the lead without attempting to at least give them something to think about at the other end, you can kill of large portions of any game by doing that and trying to hit areas with a pacy outlet and keep the ball in the corner, his changes were all reactionary to the ball hitting the back of our net and not considered, 2 and 3 minutes after in both cases, this isn't even non league level of panicking it's Sunday league management, and we did not make a single change in injury time which which is normally a great way to knock enough minutes off, interrupt a bit of momentum and to get out with a point and had he done that we may well have done that.....

Don't get me wrong the players should have worked with all of this and got something out of the game and some of the goals are hilariously bad in terms of individual errors but you cannot absolve him of any blame

Ok. Let’s get pedantic. Players to blame 95% Manager to blame 5%.

Ok lets,  I'll start with 85% managers fault 15% players fault and in about 4 posts time, when that's something more realistic, and after we've both wasted our time we'll decide I'm right and we might be somewhere near the truth. ffs.

Its pretty clear to me that we can never ever try to sit back and defend a lead because we simply can not defend. We are best on the front foot and pressing high but you have to be very fit to do that for 90 minutes, which we aren't.

Southampton are one of the better teams in the division, we need to play like we did in the first half against the crap teams. To be honest im not sure if its a combination of Southampton being crap first half or if we were good, or a bit of both, its a shame because I thought the first half was a lot better than anything I have seen for a while, the 2nd the absolute worst!

King has been pretty vocal on saying he doesn't want the job, he probably hoped it would be over by now. I still feel there is a bit of progress from the absolute 90 minutes of sideways/backwards no shot dross served up under Marti. Under him we wouldn't have had 7 shots in the first half ever.

That is a very perceptive take.

I too have seen a far better press and midfield effort since Andy King took over. In both second halves where we had 10  men the press and the midfield effort continued.

The first half against Southampton was also good in that respect. The second half: the ethos was not there.

Maybe a fragile mentality, or not fit enough.

Our defence overall this season has been woeful .

I am happy with Andy King for the interim future, yes he is sometimes inexperienced but from what  the  I have seen

things are moving in the right direction.

I am glad I am not the only one, I feel if it continues we will get a result and that may turn the tide. Fingers crossed for Stoke after a few more weeks training. If you judge on results its very easy to say nothing has changed, people criticise the formation and players used but he is changing things and we are pretty limited in that respect.

Its difficult to judge now but the 1st half performance against Southampton should be at a level where we would beat a number of teams in this league, we need to find a way of being a bit more intelligent with fitness. Its very hard to press with that intensity for 90 minutes especially when so many seem unfit for whatever reason. We need to find a way to manage games better. The rest of the season we haven't pressed at all. The players need to be trying to win every ball, it was too easy for Southampton in the 2nd half. That said they are one of the better teams in the division. Had we kept 11 men in the previous games and played that way I think we win.

I believe King made several tactical mistakes in the Southampton match, the biggest being going to 3 at the back, which drew on even more pressure. Taking off Mukassa and Daka was also a mistake as they were leading the press, but he may have known they did not have the level of match fitness to keep up the pressure. Finally, bring on Ayew is always, and always will be, a mistake.

Looks absolutely drained. Wouldn't be surprised if he gave it up.

Andy King give up, give it a rest this is his club. We’re in a massive hole but Kingy will never walk away when times are tough.

What the club is putting upon Kingy now is nothing short of a disgrace.

I wish nothing but the worst of all things on Top and Rudkin.

Should resign.

This experiment is doing nothing for him.

Why should he?

He's only there because we have no one left and our ownership are desperate and despicable.

This isn't a job he wants or is qualified for yet.

All your points are the reason he should.

He's been thrown in and left high and dry by the club. It isn't fair on him.

He's inexperienced, and right now out of his depth. He should walk and tip the club into the crisis it deserves.

The club is in a total mess and the are dragging Andy down with them

Exactly my point. Thrown under the bus and it’s doing nothing for his credentials.

Matt heath summed it up well. It’s like trying to sail the titanic after it’s already hit the iceberg.
