Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha: LCFC Chairman Seeks Fan Reconnection

Leicester City Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has committed to reconnecting with the Club’s supporters, after acknowledging the challenges and setbacks of recent seasons.

In his first recorded interview in several years, Khun Top spoke to Foxes Hub’s Dan Bates to reflect on the events that have seen us return to the Sky Bet Championship, the current feeling around the Club and the rebuild he feels is necessary to restore a position of strength in the Premier League.

Khun Top expresses his intention for the interview to be a first step towards more open communication between the Club and its supporters, emphasising its importance in restoring trust among fans and bringing the whole Club closer together.

Recorded on Friday 7 November, the interview took place in Bangkok, where Khun Top is currently paying respect to Thailand’s late Queen Mother Sirikit, who passed away on 24 October.

The interview was followed by an online briefing with the Club’s , who will provide further supporter-led insight to Khun Top in person when he returns to the UK in the coming weeks.

The next scheduled Fan Advisory Board meeting will take place on Wednesday 19 November, where Khun Top will be represented by  – the Club’s Interim Managing Director. Khun Kamonthip will support Khun Top in his capacity as Interim CEO until a permanent CEO is appointed.

Just confirms to me that the bloke is completely out of his depth and has no clue about what it takes to own and run a football club. This changes nothing.

Too late mate. You've had 7 years to stop treating the fans like something on the bottom of your shoe.

It's a scripted speech, did you expect it to show anything?

3 mins in, they should have done this in Thai. There will be so much lost in translation and took out of context that ultimately won't help. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I don't doubt that "damned if they do, damned if they don't" will be exactly the response from the usual happy clappers to this laughable response to years of incompetence.

Imagine if you'd said after the first relegation that the next time we'll hear from Top outside of programme notes he doesn't write will be him sat on a stupid chair in a skyscraper years from now.

That's without even bothering to comment on the excruciating shit he's come out with.

His English is nowhere near good enough to be able to expand on his thoughts even if he wanted to, not really sure on the solution. Like I said probably should have been in Thai (And agreed, not in the King Power offices in however many miles away in Thailand).

Seems the overall point is more communication though, believe it when we see it.

They've obviously felt a need to address this immediately recognising the massive own goal. Why not just have a bit about you and do it in a board room or office within the building, put some LCFC memorabilia up and just not mention where it's being recorded and most of us will just assume it's at his office at the ground or stadium. Starting off with "were here at the king power building in Bangkok, where our beloved owner is going to immediately tell you how he wants to be closer to you the club and the fans thousands of miles away"massively misses the point!

I kind of get it to a degree, that he's running (appears badly) King Power and has a lot of responsibility over in Thailand, and getting to games isn't a simple trip. But, thats no excuse for leaving us to essentially rot. If he cares, and is a fan like he said in that interview, pull your sleeves up and get involved, or sell up and let someone else take us forwards.

I feel like this is just a PR stunt to appease for a while.

Who is this ? Am i missing something?

"

One appointment has already been made with Kamonthip Netthanomsak joining from King Power as interim managing director.

She will focus on commercial and operational aspects of the club and assist chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha while he acts as interim chief executive."

"I want us to be closer"

*Fly's weird man from Stoke who no one really understands the purpose of, all the way out to Thailand to interview him for 10 minutes*
