he's not really an 8, needs to play deeper, let Page be the most advanced and have Sammy much closer to Lundstram

Very good 1st half, decent 2nd half vs Plymouth

Crap vs Oxford

Struggled at times vs Stockport

 

I think it's been a good start for him in a position that is not his strongest. Compare those 6 games to every established and senior player and none of them have been as reliable.

 

Should be on 2 goals and 3 assists by now too. Keep it up Sammy, the international break will be a good breather for him.

Page may be better but Braybrooke has also had some very good performances for us.

 

Today was not one of those but it doesn't need to be a competition between the two. Braybrooke is still more than good enough for league one.

He'll have games or spells where he isn't running the show - we can't demand(?) more academy products in the side and then be impatient with them when they're playing.

 

He's clearly a talent, I'm not sure where he's playing is getting the best out of him mind.

I like the lad, we need to remind ourselves that the young players are finding their feet in this team. In Sammy's case it's a step up from League Two last year.

It's a bit like Alves, who had another good game in attacking positions but who was poor defensively today and contributed to their first and third goals with lack of muscle. We're going to have a fair few moments like that this season where the lack of physicality from the young lads may cost us. Our squad's big enough now for the likes of Sammy and co. to rotate and hopefully fresh legs will mean better performances.

It's very easy to grow frustrated, not least when we shoot ourselves in the foot playing Martinball and concede stupid goals, but let's keep showing lads like Braybrooke the support they need and show patience with the new squad we've been crying out for these miserable past few years. It's painfully obvious this is going to be a slog of a season, but there's enough talent in these academy products and loanees to see us over the line - not least now we seem to have actually signed a real life, bonafide striker after years of pissing around.

I think he's been overplayed a little, there have been games where he was clearly out on his feet but we couldn't or wouldn't sub him off but that should be less of an issue now

It was causing us issues having both him and Page going forward leaving gaps that Lundstram couldn't cover by himself anyway

Good player who is still learning, needs managing a bit better, that might be a problem with Brussel

He was in the L2 Team of the season - clearly too good for that level. We’ve seen him have brilliant games at L1, he has his first rocky spell at a disparate club and some are quick to jump on his back - it’s odd.

 

He’s still ahead of my expectations for the season. Even seasoned pros in much better teams have bad games!

He is not that young and we are in L1. It’s now or never

Like him a lot but he seemed to be playing way too high in the pitch today and looked a bit of a fish out of water.

Felt for him today, Russell had him playing as a false 9 for a lot of it when we were out of possession. Was always going to struggle as that is really not his game.
 

Still had a really solid start to the season all in all.

For me he's a little to lightweight, no doubt a talent though.

Really? It follows the pattern of every single academy player that we've had. Aluko had it last season, JJ will get it no doubt sometime soon.
