If its a contract to the end of the season then I really have no major problem with it.

It'll have very little impact financially, people thinking he'll be on Prem money are being silly. Even we aren't that stupid, yes really.

Even with one leg he's better than Ayew, Daka and Carranza.

If we see Antonio in and Carranza's loan terminated, with similar financial terms offered, then for me this is a no brainer. Yes, there's obvious question marks around where Antonio is at physically, but he'd definitely pose more of a threat up top than Carranza from what we've seen of him so far.

He's 35. He's not exactly going to be sprinting laps of the King Power in record time anyway.

People are acting like he's in a wheelchair. We've had him training here for a week or two. If he couldn't mix it with professional athletes we wouldn't be considering it would we.

Mate, I've got no idea, just wanted to see what people thought, hence the question mark.

I did say to my dad at the weekend, whenever I saw him play against us for West ham, I was never that worried

You and ya dad weren’t at this game then 😂

He’s going to spend half of his6 month contract getting fit. He’ll be another Carranza in that he’s just miles off it.

Something something fitter than Ayew something something

This just seems a bit lazy on the part of recruitment as opposed to scouting younger players but maybe in January a couple more are lined up. Leicester look best when they can press and stay on the front foot for long periods and it would be unrealistic to expect Antonio to provide that.

Am i the only one who thinks he will be on low wages with high bonuses? I think after his accident he just wanted to prove he could get back to playing standard, I doubt its that much about money given his ages. Maybe im clutching at straws

Also imagine he wants to prove himself to get back in the Jamaica squad ahead of the World Cup. On that basis on a 6 month deal, and if his wages aren’t too high could be a decent pick up.

I know we all want to beat the club with the biggest stick we can find, but I'm not sure this deal is worth the blood pressure, it will be a 6 month contract on limited financial terms.

He was spotted in a fish and chip restaurant in Anstey last night. Make of that what you will.

Plugged this into the pinnacle of AI intelligence, the latest GPT-5.1 for its as always fascinating insights…

🧩 Make of it what you will…

So, unless there’s more to the story (e.g., he’s doing a local promo, filming, or it was part of a scheduled appearance), spotting him in a fish and chip shop is probably just exactly as it sounds: a footballer enjoying fish and chips. Given his ongoing journey back into playing, it’s a reminder that even well-known athletes have ordinary moments.

Not sure whether to laugh or cry! 😆

If we anchor everything to the 10th percentile for anything - it all starts to look rosey. Genius

Now you're getting it.

In all seriousness, though, I'm working under the assumption we're scraping the very bottom of the very last barrel.

I don't see us spending a penny in January and given how desperate Antonio will probably be to prove himself at a club that has our profile, I really doubt he'll be commanding much fee.

I reckon even bringing in some promising youngster from a Prem academy for a few months probably comes with more administrative cost than this likely will.

Michail Antonio be very Barry Hayles and Gary Taylor Fletcher

Maybe so.

But our other forward options when BH was here were Fryatt and Howard

GTF’s time overlapped with Vardy, Wood, Nugent and Kramaric

Right now we’ve got Ayew, Carranza and Jake Evans. The first one isn’t a striker and the second two have never scored for us.

Michail Antonio might not be a great choice but the bar is historically low at this current time

Could be a very shrewd signing similar to the likes of Dean Hammond and Gary Taylor Fletcher

Great example of a player who was absolutely awful for us but gets remembered differently because he was in a successful side.
