surely having been training with Brentford for 6 months

It was announced the 9th October he was training with Brentford, the following week they announced they wouldn’t be offering him a deal. It Certainly wasn’t 6 months

He failed a medical there. He trained with us and also failed a medical (hence no news so far as he has now left). Not surprising really after his injuries and with his age.

We’re a high-profile club that has recently fallen on bad times and has no money to spend, but is desperately in need of a striker. He’s an ageing striker who has been decent in the past but who suffered a near-fatal car accident and would be a gamble for any club to take on. It’s like a film script—we’re made for each other.

That was the Jamie Vardy era.

He was in America I think in September or October, he was trying to get move to Orlando City. What I read Orlando refuse to cover like Injury insurance or something so the deal fell apart.

And how do you know Antonio is an expensive punt and Bamford was on a much lower salary?

EPL player and the wage he is coming from.  He isnt signing for 5k a week.

Interesting if he failed a medical here, would make sense for us to not push for him. But sense is not what we do

Move Patson on and then sign Wilson as well

Then we can have 3 strikers who are 33, 34 and 35!

Wilson is better than Daka anyway.

Probably ends up back at Cov or at Wolves. But we should be in for this if possible

Wilson is still very good when fit.  Oddly though that doesn't seem to be his problem at West Ham, scored 4 goals in 800 minutes largely as a sub for a wank side.

Who said he failed a medical here?

I would of thought with his recent horrific injury he would have had a provisional medical before he started training with us. Especially if he failed a medical at Brentford, which i was told he didnt

He is if that's all he's offered.

He came to us via Bobby and his wish to get back is more about being in line to go to the world cup with Jamaica.  A once in a lifetime experience.  Is he going to pass that up?  He has to prove to himself and others that he's still capable of playing the game, with the prize being a place in the Reggae Boyz side for a WC for only the second time in their history.

I reckon we'll end up with him paying us...

I always wanted Wilson alongside Vardy, and even though he would do a job for us still now he will probably end up back at Cov.

A person who is part of the wider medical setup at the club.

The injury at Brentford was a different one to the one suffered with us. I don't have meticulous detail but I can only imagine that both injuries are a result of a weaker body post his crash (added on top to an ageing body too).

It would explain the recent radio silence on Antonio. The TalkSport headline over the weekend seemed to suggest that a deal with Antonio was getting closer, but when you read the article itself it was clear they didn't have any inside info at all—they were just assuming that Carranza's departure meant that Antonio would probably join. It wouldn't surprise me if he's no longer training with us and it just hasn't been reported yet.

Just like many other 'journalists' or outlets, many articles are written in the same way...

I would love to hear your forward suggestions who would accept 5k a week.

Bamfords last contract at Leeds was 70K, Antonios was 90k (if believed) so its not like either of them was on a low deal previously.
