The match day thread being on page 2 on the day of a match sums up the club

I said similar about a game a couple of weeks ago too. Top has drained the life out of this club.

Derby winning here would be the icing on 2025 - they haven't won at this ground once.

Actually wondering if we've ever had a worse year than 2025.

Looking at it on a calendar year basis you might have a point. Even something like relegation to league one was followed by a great start to league 1 life lol

It certainly feels that way.

5 clean sheets but how many blanks from us? Bet it's a minimum of 10, possibly even 15.

An absolutely terrible record, in all honesty I thought it would be even worse but consider we've spent half of that as playing as the team with the biggest wage bill in the division.

Clean sheets against teams who weren't already relegated: 3.

Yeah this season makes things look better surprisingly.... having said that, we've only had 3 clean sheets this season which is a joke.

We're on a run of 17 games without a clean sheet. The win over already relegated Southampton in May was our first in 29 games.

Our recruitment of defenders is surely the worst in world football.

Whatever score gets Marti gone, thats what I hope it is. If there was a single scoreline like 500 nil that got King Power gone as well then that please.

I definitely think you could get a back four of Ricardo, Vesty, Nelson and Thomas to keep a couple more clean sheets in that time, if we didn't keep hiring morons who don't do tactics lol.

You've got a point though, perhaps the main issue is we haven't really recruited any defenders for quite some time.... (i'm not counting yo-yo)

2004 runs 2025 close in terms of abject mediocrity. Relegation from the Prem and then a really middling start to the championship.

  • Pl: 48
  • W: 9
  • D: 21
  • L: 18

Let us also not forget 2001, though that was a collapse followed by the horrific 01/02 campaign

  • Pl: 48
  • W: 10
  • D: 8
  • L: 24

Can I also just emphasise how similar this season seems to be compared to 04/05? If you look at the table then to today's date you can see how mid-table we are, and remember back then how mid-table we were despite starting the season thinking our Dad's Army squad was superior.

04/05:

  • Pl: 26
  • W: 7
  • D: 11
  • L: 8
  • Pts: 32
  • Ppg: 1.23
  • Pos: 15th

25/26

  • Pl: 23
  • W: 8
  • D: 7
  • L: 8
  • Pts: 31
  • Ppg: 1.34
  • Pos: 14th

With all the negatively around the club, I think we will lose. It’s a shame, but this negativity around club, will rub off the players. The manager gets criticised,, but how can anyone work within this environment, with these players?
yes, the manager says all the right things, and you can hear him on the touchline, but  I feel the players have been sucked into this feeling of negativity!

Derby will win if they turn up with purpose, energy and a will to win. Watford had this from the first minute and our shrinking violets will give up again. Grim.

Leicester will concede fact. Probably 2. Will we score? Possibly 1 maybe 2.

Leicester 1-2 derby 60%

Leicester 2-2 derby 25%

Any other score 15%

Ill be watching the darts tonight

Will be fresh in Derby's heads how terrible we were for two thirds of the game there, was only three weeks ago after all. Reminds me of when we played Portsmouth twice in a few days in 2010, won the first game having started well and got outplayed for most of it, but clung on. Then lost 6-1 in the second game.

Derby are cowards if they can't win tonight.

I'd take a loss tonight if it meant forcing change.

Short term pain, long term gain.

Pains me to say that though against the likes of Derby County!

Can see similar to what happened against Blackburn and Sheffield Utd.
Derby will be 2 or 3 nil up at half time.

We’ll then get a goal back second half and the score will look better than it actually is.

2-1 Derby. Silko Thomas scorpion kick.

In the 94th minute. It’ll be talked about for years to come by all 5 that witnessed it.

I still cannot believe how easily I’ve sold my seats on resale for the last 2 matches.

Time of year when people have family/friends visiting and might be able to go along with them as a one off.

My mates up from Bristol and we haven't had an evening out together in years without it being a full family affair so i'm going along tonight.

Happy to add to the dissent if needed to be honest lol
