BBC reports Jake Evans loan to Northampton - “10 goals in 14 matches for Leicester's Under-21 side.” So why is he being loaned out.  Why not send Daka on loan?

Because there is a major difference between the standard he’s played at and the Championship, loan should be a good move for him to show everyone what he’s got.

People seem to really overestimate the level of youth football.  Loads of teams are made up of players who won't have a career in the mens game at all, let alone the ones that can play at the level required.

I mean you can see how even a “generational talent” like Monga has struggled this season at times, it’s not easy and a massive difference.

There is a long list of players that have made debuts at a younger age in the championship and had top careers, he hasn’t even been given minutes when we have 2 of the worst performing strikers in the league, whilst I can understand caution starting him, I don’t understand how slowly giving him 5, 10, 15 minutes as the season progressed could be detrimental, and then actually judge him on game time if he needs that loan.

Being ‘well off the pace’ has been absolutely no barrier to playing for Ayew tbf.

That!

But on the other hand, there are so many experienced managers in this forum, and they surely know how to introduce an uncertain young player into a powerhouse club, like ours. It’s a privilege, after all.

Our other strikers regularly look well off the pace in actual competitive games so I'm not sure that alone should be enough to disqualify him. I wouldn't have expected him to immediately step up and start banging goals in, and I do think he's better off going and (hopefully) getting regular senior football than hanging around here occasionally sneaking into the matchday squad at best, but I do think it's a bit of a shame he's not had any opportunities whatsoever, even in the cups.

With young players you have to give them a chance before deciding they’re simply not quite up to speed yet. Plenty of players aren’t that highly rated, end up with a chance and surpass all expectations.

Luke Thomas looked at his best when he first had an opportunity, I don’t recall any hype around him but he slotted in quickly and looked the part (initially).

I remember reading Rashford wasn’t tipped as a first team player but seized a chance due to injury.

The Leicester pathway is to go on loan and almost unanimously impress for 2 or 3 seasons before you get a chance - it doesn’t always have to be that way.

If Evans had 10/15 minutes here or there - even during defeats, he’d much further along right now, just look at Page.

I know this seems a bit out there but i think we need a big target man that shows a bit of grit. I would have said Dykes before he went Charlton. Would have been perfect to bring other players into play! His goal scoring record is not great but his hold up play is perfect!

Genuinely think the silver lining of not going up this season is that Monga, Page, Aluko, Nelson, Braybrooke, Alves, Evans, Cartwright etc will be in a MUCH better place to contribute next season significantly. Get the right manager, let some contracts expire, and we could have the makings of a young, half-decent squad.

Definitely Agree trouble is tho they play amazing and the big boy parasitic Vultures of the premier league come circling try to steal them for ridiculously low transfer fees, we need to be strong where our young talent Is concerned and not let these big boys commit daylight robbery and get them on the Cheap that’s where we need to not let Ruskin get involved with transfers !

Don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with needing a new striker when we have Jordan Ayew available? Long international career, 17 years at the highest level.

Ghanaian national team captain, no less.

Only LCFC could have a number 9 who isn't even the best footballer in his own direct family.

I mean, Bilbao can certainly say that.

And they're Ghanaian (and Spanish) too.
